Mississippi, where 32 were killed, police officer Wade Sharp died when a towering sweetgum tree fell onto his tent as he shielded his young daughter with his body, a ranger with the National Park Service said. The girl wasn't hurt. The 9-year-old was brought to a motorhome about 100 feet away where campsite volunteer Greg Maier was staying with his wife, Maier said. He went back to check on the father and found him dead. "She wasn't hurt, just scared and soaking wet," Maier said.

This story made me so sad. It will forever get stuck in my mind just like the mom and 10 week old baby that died two years ago in the Good Friday tornado in TN. I will be keeping that little girl in my prayers.

That's terrible. Does anybody know groups other than the Red Cross that we can help out, or are they and the National Guards the only one on the scene yet?
