Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What annoys your dh about you?

I take a glass of water to bed everynight and smoetimes (most times, lol) I don't bring the cup back down in the morning.  I forget or I have the baby, our toddler, a bottle, a blankie etc in my arms so I leave it.  Lastnight he had our son ask me where all of our glasses are and why you don't bring them back to the kitchen Mommy?  Nice eh? lol  It makes him absolutely crazy...makes me giggle, but I really should pick up after myself.

Re: What annoys your dh about you?

  • 75% of the time, I don't finish my drink.  I always have 1/4 of a coke floating around or leave half of the juice I poured in a glass for breakfast.  But I never toss it right away, because I think I'll drink it later.  It drives him crazy!  It's become a game for him at night to see how many "floaters" I've left out during the day.

  • I'm ocd about...well everything, but the one that gets him the most is the cleanliness of our house. He says "you don't want the house clean, you want it to look like no one lives here!"  Yeah, so?

  • The 'shower spiders' I leave behind after washing my hair.  I try to remember to throw them in the trash, but sometimes I forget and he gets a little surprise when he pulls back the shower curtain.

    LOL

  • He hates how I react first and think later.  I'll get irrationally pissed about something and be so mad and just spouting off because I need to get it off my chest.  After a little while, though, I calm down and am perfectly rational.

He's the opposite.  He stays calm and thinks things through.  It drives him nuts that I can't do that.

  • I run around late at night to get things cleaned up in the kitchen and he gets annoyed and tells me to sit down and relax, "we'll take care of it later".  Meanwhile it's 10:30pm, the dishes aren't going to clean themselves.  Everything is "we'll do it later"  I have a choice of doing it buy myself or waiting for him to get up and help...I end up doing it by myself about 80% of the time.  I hate having a dirty kitchen and doesn't see what's wrong with leaving dirty dishes in the sink over night.
  • That I don't cook dinner every night, or keep the house really clean. It's not a disaster or anything, it's just not spotless. If he would help, it would look better though. :) oh, and my messy car bothers him I think.

  • DH hates that there is always crap in my car: namely jackets and water bottles. I go to work in the AM with a jacket, and usually grab a water and often forget to bring it in with me. When I get home, I have DD and her stuff to carry in and usually my extra junk from the morning doesn't make it inside. I put it on my passenger seat and it usually rolls onto the floor while I'm driving and I forget about it. Every time he gets in my car he gets all huffy about the bottles on the floor.

He also can't stand how my hair gets everywhere. He complains how gross it is that he gets hair in his toes. I think if he picked up his feet when he walks he wouldn't have that problem, I have never had hairs in between my toes. I can't help that I shed a lot. I have ruined several vacuums.

I snore. That is the big one. I also clean all his little things away. Like he leaves important stuff on the kitchen table and in an attempt to clean up I throw his things away.  At this point he should know better since all sorts of his 'important' paperwork has gone missing.

This is SO's biggest thing with me too. He gets so pissed, but he leaves his shiit everywhere.

DH does this and the other day he left the upper cabinet open in the bathroom, turned around and walked right into it.  Banged his forehead pretty good...it was hard not to laugh since he leaves doors open all the time and makes me crazy, lol.

This. Haha.  DH won't pour me a full glass of anything. He says in his dad voice, "you can have more when you finish this."  LOL

  • The glass-on-the-headboard is an every day joke here too. It's gotten to the point where he'll put his glass on my side, just to make it look worse than it is.

I'm a little tightly wound, but he seems okay with it for the most part.

I think his biggest annoyance (lately) is that I don't put the lids on jars correctly. I always seem to mis-thread it and leave it on funny.

It must be a minimum of 50 degrees out, daylight and no precipitation for me to clean the car out.  I'm prissy like that.

DH hates the mess in my car too, if I leave it long enough he cleans it for me.  It also makes him crazy that I never wash it.

This.  And it has not been 50 degrees here since probably October.  I don't care if there's crap in my car.  The driver's seat is always clean for me :)

HA! This is the exact opposite of DH and me. He gets soooo mad and will stomp around and slam doors and be all 'teenage girl' pissy, and I am the calm one. Drives.me.crazy. I just don't understand how he can get so incredibly angry, and then 10 minutes later it's as if nothing happened. So very confusing for my calm self!

The one thing he can't stand is I bite my nails. I hate it too, have tried to stop many times, but it's just such a habit that I always go right back to it. And like other pp's: I leave glasses in our bedroom, and my car is filthy (inside and out).

  • He hates that we'll be sitting watching TV or something and I'll be like "Hey, can you go grab me a diaper so I can change LO?" and then a minute later I'm like "While you're up would you pour me a glass of tea?"  He's like "I was only UP because you asked me to be!!!"

He also hates that I will ask him to hand me things that I could theoretically reach myself, except I'm just too lazy to do it, LOL.  (My excuse is that I am EXHAUSTED by the end of the day and putting the recliner down to scoot forward in my chair and reach over the coffee table for something is just too darn much energy).

we married the same man! later never comes and he is laid back and i am 'stressed out'. Wonder why?

My DH is the same and it drives me nuts.  Like, really? Later? Later when? When I'm passed out from exhaustion?

Anyway, he gets annoyed at my hair.  He's balding so maybe more sensitive but I know it annoys him when my hair is in the shower or sink.. I try to keep it in a ponytail to minimise it...

Also, I'm pretty sure he's annoyed at my low sex drive... But what am I supposed to do about that?  I always tell him when he makes a snarky comment about it that he asked me to marry him knowing who I was (not like I hid it or was some crazy sex maniac before our wedding), so he needs to suck it up.
