"Dixie Grace" for a girl's name? DH and I had agreed on it and now he's having 2nd thoughts. Says "Dixie" sounds like a dogs name. I'm still happy with it but, he should be just as comfortable as I am with the name of our daughter.
I love it! Sounds like an old timey name! We are naming our DD Mollly and I was worried about Mollly being a dogs name too lol I dont care now though. Its what I like and Im sticking with it!
The baby name board will hate Dixie. I almost guarantee it. Don't post there unless you want some serious honesty that might hurt your feelings. (I love the baby name board, but it's not for everyone).
I actually know a dog named Dixie, so I have to agree with your H.
It sounds very southern belle to me, but I agree with a pp- think about possible teasing. I don't think it's short for anything though, so if you like the name, go for it.

I'm not a fan. It reminds me of the song which I strongly associate with the Old South. It's not a good association. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie)
My sisters best friend and our neighbor growing up was named Dixie Rachelle. Everyone loved her name and it worked great for a pretty little girl and now as a sophisticated adult. I think it is very uncommon and under used, it would be a great name choice.
Re: How do you like....
Not a fan.
Dixie is way to HeeHaw for me. And Grace is a filler middle name...it would be great as a first name.

Where do you live? Dixie will be received in places differently if you aren't in the south...
That being said, I'm not a fan of Dixie. I don't hate it, it just seems a little redneck-y to me.
