My almost two-and-a-half year old son keeps spitting out food at meals. It can be foods he likes, or not, it just seems to keep happening. Sometimes it is because he wants to drink, but it is driving me nuts!! Anyone have ways of dealing with it in a way that can get him to stop?
DD went through a phase like this (it was more throwing though) if she does it we take away her food and she gets down from her highchair. She learned quickly not to do that again.
If it's food she likes, then DD does that when she's full, or otherwise is finished eating.
After the 2nd or 3rd bite comes out, we ask her if she's finished. She usually says "yes", and we try to convince her to take a drink & leave the table.
