Lately I totally understand why Memo was a good idea. If I had more time then I would seriously think about trying to start another one. Reasons why:
1) AEs could be ousted easily.
2) Crazy people could be IP tracked and banned. For good.
3) No friggin pop up ads. FU Aruba.
4) Probably not slow as molasses as TB can be.
What are your thoughts? I am talking a big off board where everyone (except legit BSCies) is welcome - lurkers, semi-loonies - anyone. It would just be nice to have some freaking control.
I am really unhappy with some of the stuff that these AEs have been doing. Porn - whatever. Annoying but isn't going to affect my sleep at night. The AE "calling out" Ms.Hooper is terrible and makes me sick.
I just feel like things are somewhat out of control here.

TB is busy gathering more advertisers, probably to keep the site profitable. Looks like they don't care about the people who actually create the traffic that attracts those advertisers, huh?

I'd be in providing it wasn't some popularity contest that you had to know a certain amount of people who had to vote you in. That just makes people feel like they're in highschool again waiting to get picked for the dodgeball team.
I am all for off boards and I am really sick and tired of the BS going on here. I would leave in a heartbeat if I could be part of a board where my favorite Bumpies can post safely.
Memo is very well run. If something similar to that could be set up, it would be fantastic.

I agree. I like the layout of TB. I wasn't a fan of MeMo's layout.
I'd be willing to pitch in some $ if needed. The crap that's been going on here is beyond annoying.

Funny, I have never been an offboard person, but after the last couple of weeks ... a non-popularity, take no crap sort of board where loonies are kicked off right away sounds refreshing!!

Besides, being the Devil's Advocate, sometimes I agree with voting, not as a popularity contest, but as a filter if you want to keep the crazies away.
Can we go to a place where the boards work with Safari and JavaScript? I'm tired of having to switch browsers on my computer and turn off JavaScript on my iPhone.
I'm not sure if they have IP tracking, but the babycenter boards are pretty user friendly to me. They function fairly similarly to the bump boards and have PMs and such.
I am all for funny AEs but if you are a douche then you are gone. If I start the site then I would have access to everyones IP. If someone punches below the belt I could block the IP. There are ways around it - nothing is fullproof. BUT - it would be better than the current situation.
I guess I will make a board,we can try it out - and go from there. I will let you all know when it is ready

i also agree with the p.p... i'd rather most people keep their bump names too if at all possible!! (obviously if you have your real name in your bump id and want to change it that's understandable! )
