NYE mamas

Are you going out tomorrow?

I am feeling indecisive about it. I think I would feel guilty going out since it is his first b-day...but he will be in bed. Maybe it is easier when it is not their first birthday!

Thoughts?

Re: NYE mamas

  • If he will be in bed..I wouldnt feel bad..spend the day with him :) I know I was feeling like I should just stay  home..but we got my uncle to watch Noah .. We always go to my aunts and uncles house each yr..so we figured if my other uncle was just sitting home and wanted to come over and put him in bed..we might as well go play some games :)

  • We were undecided too, but mostly because I'm dead tired by midnight and would rather be on my couch with a blanket and a glass of wine than an hour+ away from home trying to carry on conversation. But we decided we should be social for once and go out since we don't get to very often. DD will be with her grandparents who she adores and stays with often, so there's no concern there.

  • Thanks Ladies! I know what you mean about being too tired though ;) I was thinking more of going to a neighborhood block party or something of that sort. Tomorrow will be our special day I think and then adult fun at night :)
  • We are driving an hour to go back to my hometown, where my friends are throwing a party.  They have a daughter 6 months older than the Pea, and at least four other couples will be bringing their kids, ranging in age from 2 months to 4 years.  There should be about 7 kids total.  I am totally excited at the prospect of letting Ruby run wild with the other kids (in a safe environment) while we catch up with grown-ups.  Then putting her to bed and continuing the fun, without having to take a cab anywhere!
  • Ah! That is def a win-win situation! Yay!
  • We're pretty sure that's a no, unless my mom just offers on her own to watch him. My dad is in town and she may want to spend it with him, so I didn't want to ask, plus most of our friends have kids so there's no one to really go out with.

We will probably finish watching a movie we starting forever ago and haven't gotten around to seeing the end of yet.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
  • my daughter turned today so tomorrow i told her she could stay up and watch the ball drop. but she will probably be asleep before then. so the hubbs and i are getting pizza and have some friends over. sad i know but im too tired to go out and plus i have school the next day
  • He won't know!  I would go, if you have a sitter.

I haven't been out in forever on NYE, but I'm going to a party this year, should be fun!

  • My DS turns one tomorrow, too! I would like to go out, but we're supposed to get freezing rain here and travel is allegedly going to be "treacherous." Instead I'm sure we'll just stay home like an old, boring married couple and clean the house for his party on Saturday and undoubtedly be in bed ASLEEP by 10 p.m. Maybe if we get real crazy we'll make lobster for dinner and drink wine. Snoooze fest!

  • We're going out tomorrow night and I am SO excited!  We're going to the Redskins NYE party!  I really hope I see Erino there too!  It'll be the best NYE ever!

  • I'd go if my kids slept better. But, since they both still wake up pretty much every single night or the majority of nights, the thought of staying up past midnight on purpose just to be woken up a couple hrs later & for the day at 6 am is sooooo not appealing. MH is not a big NYE person anyway but we would go if it were something low key or a party at friends', etc...

PS he won't know youre gone & he doesn't know it's his bday soooo I think you're ok on that, don't feel bad.
