s/o - wish there was a ONE and DONE board

since many of us think that our little one may be the one and only child we have, it would be nice to talk to other moms of "only-ies"

    There should be a one child family board or something like that.  Yea, because you'll deal with different things than people with more than one child will.

    I agree.  It would be nice to have a place where I can go talk about the challenges of raising an only, without being inundated by all this talk of "2u2" or "I got a BFP!".  Ugh.  I'm glad they're happy, but the thought of joining their ranks makes me want to puke.  I'm happy with my only. :)

    Im totally for a one and done bored.  I need a place to get away from the whole "ahh when are you going to have another" or " oh you'll change your mind in a few years"

    I'm obviously not one and done.. ;) But I have to say I agree it would make sense to have a board for that!

    BFP 5/07 - Kylie born 2/08.       BPF 2/09 - Alexandra born 10/09.
    TTC since 8/13 - diagnosed difficulty conceiving due to LP defect. Took vitamin B and Vitex Berry to help lengthen.
    BFP 2/14 - Missed M/C found at 8.5 weeks. D&C at 9w2d. Partial Molar Pregnancy.

    We have asked the nest for one a few times but they don't listen well. I know other parenting boards have them, think "infant" center.

    Of course they don't. Why would The Bump want a board all about NOT having babies, when they get all their money from advertisers who want us to keep popping them out.

    I VERY MUCH agree with you...everyone and their mom keeps telling , oh it's too soon now but you can't have him be by himself. What if you die?! He'll have no one and all this crap. My one and only is just how hubby and I want it. We rather provide more than what we had growing up than having to compensate with more than one child and have the "we can't afford to send you both to college" type conversations in the future! I'd totally "like" this post too :)

    I agree that it would be a nice place for one & done mom's to go.  However, I just have to say, I was SO on the one & done boat that it wasn't funny.  And, well, life is just funny sometimes.  Condoms + Not Trying + PCOS + A BABY= You've got to be kidding me.  I think alot of ut oh's happen the second time and you would eventually see a lot of people on the one & done board (unless they had permenant bc) get pregnant.  I know a lot of people on 3-6 weren't 'trying' and some were 'preventing' and still got KU.
    DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

    DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

    I'm in for one and done and I don't think that many people on one and done would get pregnant by accident there's like a 1% chance if you use things correctly all the time.

    I feel like there are too many sub-boards, and it would barely get any traffic. We may or may not be one and done, though, and I admit I could use a place to discuss it. DH doesn't think he wants any more kids, and I'm not sure. If we do have more, they will probably be spaced 4 years apart.

    Why? I'm one and done and I don't feel like I have anything different going on than anyone else...except maybe that I have more time on my hands and can nap more. Other than that I don't feel I need a separate board to dissect my one and done status.

    I agree.  I went the the Two under 2 board when I got my 2nd BFP and there were only like 4-5 posts a day.  I stopped lurking after 2-3 weeks.  It gets boring because all anyone ever talks about is "what type of double stroller are you using/going to get?"  :)  I think there are plenty of people who only want one child that can contribute to the same conversation as people with multiples on the 12-24 board.
