maybe a stupid question

in 3rd Trimester
but if you've dilated already have you more than likely lost your MP already?? Or can it stay even after you've dilated?  I've been dilated to 3 cm for over a week but never obviously lost my MP...is it possible I still have it or is it pretty unlikely??

    or you could have lost it when you were peeing and never noticed.

    not sure.  You most likely have lost it if you're 3cm.  But it doesn't mean much anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it.

    with DS I was 1-2cm at my 37wk appt. I lost my MP a few days later.

    On the day I was induced with DS, I was already 4 cm dilated. I had lost some of my mucus plug, but maybe not all of it. You can lose it in pieces and sometimes it isn't obvious, especially if you have a lot of discharge normally.

    I was dialated to 3 for 5 days with DS 1 and lost my MP then 2 hours later my water broke.

    With both my kids I never lost my plug...or I didnt know I did. I had heard of them but didnt even know what they looked like or anything. So imagine my surprise a few nights ago when I lost mine. I was shocked. Anyway, losing your mucous plug before labor begins etc. is not always a given.
