Prepping Med Cabinet for baby...

I had some book checked out from the library, but hubs returned it before I could print out a helpful page.  It was a list of meds and stuff that are good to have in the house before baby comes, so that way you are stocked.  Stuff for colds etc..etc...  Just wondering if you guys got some of this to prep for baby so in case he/she gets sick, you might be able to avoid a middle of the night trip to the store.

Re: Prepping Med Cabinet for baby...

  • From what I know there isn't much you can give an infant but I do have glycerin suppositories on hand just in case of constipation, a good snot sucker for colds, and some baby saline drops. Otherwise I don't think there is much you can give newborns if they get sick because DD got a cold when she was 2 weeks and I remember feeling bad that there was nothing I could do for her.
  • Things I've heard that are good to have on hand are:

    Baby tylenol
    Baby Motrin
    Nasal aspirator
    Digital thermometer
    Diaper rash treatment
    Petroleum jelly
    Saline drops
    Electrolyte solution
Rubbing alcohol (to clean thermometer, etc.)
    Gauze/bandaids, etc.

    Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

    Lilypie First Birthday tickers

    I'll love you forever,
    I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

add mylicon(sp?) and gripe water and you are all set.

You cannot use anything for a cold, but the saline nose drops.

  • Thanks everyone!! This is exactly the kinda list I needed!!!
