What a random lady in Walmart told me...

So, I was standing in the return line in Walmart, when the lady in front of me turned around and looked at me and said, "Wow, that is about to happen any time now."  Then she said that she KNEW it was a boy.  When I said it was a girl she said, "Nope, I KNOW it is a boy because you are carrying so low.  Boys are carried lower because they are closer to hell and girls are closer to heaven." 

Me: (after a long pause of speechlessness) Well, I hope it is girl or he will be coming home to a completely pink room,.

Crazy Lady: Oh, well girls are much harder to raise.

Then she just walked away, leaving my husband and I standing there stunned.

    Wow, WalMart has some winners.....what a miserable woman.  I am carrying super high, but imagine that, I'm having a boy....maybe he made a deal with the devil, lol!

    Only at Walmart!!! I live in Portland,OR and wierd people like that are ALWAYS talking to me. I avoid the Walmart in Portland at all costs becuase you have never seen crazy until you have been to that specific one!!!

    For real. What kind of person would say that ANY baby is close to hell?  What a horrible thing to tell someone.  She is lucky that I am ridiculously polite to strangers.  :)

    I had a cashier at Walmart tell me that if she could do it over, she would have all boys because girls are a nightmare.  Well, woman, what do you want me to do? Return her and get a boy? Seriously?

    At least thats what I saw in my head...

    HA and now I know I've seen this woman.  She stands at the bus stop by my work sometimes.  With a Wal-Mart shopping bag.

    Oh how I wish that could have been me. I hate rude thoughtless strangers! Not to mention I carried really high with my son and am super low with this one and she's def a girl!

    I did giggle a little when I read this but only because I'm so used to people around me not having any filters, always saying the first thing that comes to mind, some people are just ignorant.  I was at the hair salon recently and an older woman sitting beside me looks at me and says she couldn't believe I was having a boy because I was "round as a barrel".. I couldn't help but laugh at her comment because some people just say off the wall stuff sometimes.

    Sorry you had to hear that, how freakin' awful!!!!

    I hate that dumb crap about the gender being related to how you carry (high or low). Often how a woman carried is determined by where the baby implants in the uterus, and her general body shape.  

    I hate it when people spew ideas that are not factual and based in medical science. 

    I've been approached several times in Walmart with similar stupid things said to me :(

    Walmart people - sheesh.

    Oh god.  Walmart weirdos are one thing I definitely do not miss about the States.

    I'm carrying DD almost exactly the way I carried DS- low and in front.  My daughter's a rebel!
