Bad week.

Hi ladies. I've really missed you. This has just been a horrible week. Last Monday, my grandmother (my last living gparent) was admitted to the hospital. She had a distended stomach and couldn't eat. On Thursday, she felt sick to her stomach. That continued over the weekend. Late Sunday night, she went to the ER. Today, we buried her. We have no idea what was wrong with her. She was the strongest 92 year old I've ever met and had no symptoms until recently. The doctors first said "bowel obstruction" then "colon cancer was a possibility" then the final scan showed a "bloody mass."
In some ways, this was good as her suffering was short lived. I got to spend time with her and took my little monster to see her. He made her laugh as usual. I miss her so much already.
She passed away Friday night and Jace's first birthday party was Saturday. We went ahead and had it. I am glad we did. It allowed all of the family to be together again.
As I left the funeral, daycare called. Jace had 102.5 fever. I think he has an URI (I have one, too, right now). My poor sweet baby.
It's just been a bad week, a sad week and I need a hug

for you, one of my husband's relatives lost his mother on Sunday so looks like it's a sad week for many. I'm sorry for your loss 
Oh Jen I am so sorry. I am glad Jace and your grandmother got to spend time together. It was good that you went on with the birthday party. Jace must have lifted up up everyone's moods.
I wish I lived close by to give you a hug in person.

Oh Jen! I am so, so sorry about your grandmother! And I'm also super sorry that both you and sweet Jace are under the weather. What a bunch of suck piled on top of suck.

Oh, Jen, I am so sorry for your loss. When they pass suddenly it's such a double edged sword. You are glad they didn't suffer, but you don't have much time to prepare. My only living gma is my 92 yo G'ma also. I am glad you were able to spend time with her with Jace.
Sorry Jace is sick and I hope he gets better soon.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure the party was very healing for your family. I know my dad in particular found it very comforting to have Stella at my grandmother's funeral.

Hugs. It's such a surreal experience as I've just learned. I'm so glad both you and Jace got to spend time with your grandmother - that'll be special for you even if he doesn't remember. Take care.
I am so sorry for your loss! My grandfather passed away at 96 (last living too) last year & it happened so quickly once he was in the hospital. I just felt blessed enough that he was "around" for my son's birth. But it is never easy losing someone you love no matter how young they are!
It definitely does not help that the two of you are under the weather too.

awww Jen, what sad news. I'm so sorry for your loss. Grandparents are very special to growing children and i'm sure it was a pleasure for her to see her great-grandchild while she wasn't feeling well....and so sorry you 2 are under the weather. {{HUGS}}

Jen, I am so sorry about your grandmother. I lost my grandmother in January and it was really rough, especially as she was my last living grandparent. ((((HUGS))))
I'm glad you had Jace's party, however. Even not knowing her, I'd like to think your grandmother would have wanted that for Jace.

Oh, Jen! I am so sorry for your loss. I only have one grandmother left, and she sounds a lot like yours: it would be a complete shock to lose her now.
I hope you and Jace are feeling better. I haven't been around too much and missed wishing him a Happy Birthday. Boo!
