I haven't been around here in awhile, hopefully some of you remember me. Experienced my 2nd loss recently (actually had d&c today b/c my body didn't get the message). Not TTC for 3 cycles, which will give us some time to decide what we really want to do.
Hope you're all doing well and having an easier time of it. Have a questions ... would you see an RE if you'd been TTC since 11/09 with 2 m/c? We apparently don't have too much trouble with the getting PG part (took 5 cycles for 1st BFP, due to newly wonky cycles and bad timing, 3 cycles post 1st m/c for 2nd BFP). I'm getting conflicting info from OBs. Two say to check progesterone (but in 2 different ways) for a potential LP defect. The other thinks it's just a fluke since we have two children and no LP defect then.
now I'm totally confused. WWYD if you were me? Stay with the OBs or see a specialist?
Re: Hey ladies!
Sorry about your loss. My real question is this: if your OB thinks you might have a luteal phase problem why don't they just put you on progesterone once you get your next BFP? I have a friend whose OB did this for all 3 of her successful pregnancies. My OB also did this for me after my 1st mc when I got pg again - unfortunately i had my 2nd mc then but he got me the progesterone prior to that.
I guess my point is that you don't need an RE to get progesterone. an OB can easily prescribe that. If it was me i'd talk to my OB about that first because like you said it seems like you're not having a problem getting pg, just maintaining another pg.
again, conflicting answers from the OBs. One says I don't need at all, one says I should only take if I need, the other says I need to start before a BFP. ugh! I'm with you, just give me the prog. I know it can't hurt anything!
fwiw my vote is RE. they are so much more advanced. why waste time with anyone but the best?
