  • LOL yeah people used to make fun because my boob was bigger than baby's head.
  • i'm with you!  i'm actually having that problem right this minute, but i'm way to tired to sit up.

I agree. I was over them before I even got pregnant! Now its just plain ridiculous. My back hurts and they are just in the way all the time.

  • Yes I fear for my life. DH thinks it is so funny.

  • OMG - your subject line is SO funny!

I find mine irritating but not suffocating, except when they are unleashed in the shower, which is the only time I am braless these days, and then I feel like they weigh 10 lbs each and they are just completely in the way. I find them icky - I cannot imagine that people get implants to get even BIGGER than I am - UGH!

  • I was tiny to begin with so I for one am enjoying the plumper ta-tas.   So is DH hehehe.
  • I honestly don't think my boobs have grown that much at all!  I was, and still am, a D cup.  Still wearing pre-pg bras.  We'll see if they grow as time goes by.

  • I'm just enjoying them while I have them because soon they will go back to their indention state and will be all gone...
  • lol. i fear for myself, my fiance and our son,lol
  • I am a new mom to our 4 week old daughter and i just make sure i leave space for my baby girl to breathe while feeding, no biggie. Before pregnancy i was quite big anyway in this dept, but now that i'm only slightly bigger since lactating i can truly appreciate why GOD gave me these things in the first place. So I have to say my self body loathing is significantly reduced these days. Not to mention that they are more sexual while lactating than before it. Maybe tmi, but there you go. Good luck in your pregnancy.

  • I'm always afraid DD will suffocate while breastfeeding at night, but I've had absolutely NO changes in my breasts from the start of pregnancy even to this point. No growth, no shape changes, no color changes. But, yes, I worry about that too!
  • i used to be a barely B cup and now i'm a full C! NO COMPLAINTS HERE! Big Smile

LOL! I must admint...when I first read this, I read "bf" as boyfriend, not as breastfeeding. Oh, that made my morning!

    hahaha SAME HERE!

Also, non-first-timers.. uhmn.. when do they stop growing? Do they grow throughout the pregnancy? Beyond it?! And do you always go back to your pre-pregnancy size?

& Can anyone tell me what DD and DH means? I'm a newbie, and I can't seem to figure it out.

  • I have gone from a 36C to my current E cup and the baby isn't due to arrive for another 19 days.  Things are going to be scary by the time that my milk supply comes in!!!!  DH isn't complaining - but my back is killing me.
  • Same here. I was a D before getting pregnant, and didn't grow any bigger while pregnant or post-delivery.

I've also been surprised by how little support I need these days.  Most of the time I just wear a loose-fitting cami.  That means more air on the nipples and keeping the nips dry means no chapping.  Yes, my breasts sag somewhat, but they feel more comfortable swinging free than they do squeezed into a nursing bra  and right now that's all I really care about.

  • i havent  really  noticed much  change  ive  gone  from a 38D to a 40D and thats all  hopefully it stays that  way .
  • I am kinda jealous I don't have that problem!!  LOL Stick out tongue

  • LOL, I read it the same way! Man do I miss caffeine!!

     daenikoffre:

Just like everything else in pregnancy, every body is different!  However mine with both my son, and with my current pregnancy grew throughout pregnancy, and then after I had my son, they really blossomed! I was busting out of my 38D! (and I started as a 36 B), however, I couldn't breastfeed, so they deflated very quckly! And as for the DD and DH, you got me too. I'm new to the Bump. So I'm with you on the confusion! :)

  • Big boobs are not all they're cracked up to be, but don't worry. Your baby will learn how to push and pull them around exactly the way s/he wants them and will not suffocate.

Well, this is my first-time pregnancy. And I can tell you that they grew like wildfire during month 2-3 & I went from a 38C to a 40D. When I was pretty sure they were done growing, I went out and bought 3-4 new bras. While they were growing, I found the miracle of non-underwire Vogue sports bras. Not incredibly supportive, but my breasts didn't feel so constricted & achy. They've been growing very slightly since then, and are now starting to "blossom" like mad again. Next bra purchase will be nursing bras I think.

As for the DD & DH thing. I dunno if there's a translation of abbreviations anywhere on these blogs, but from what I can gather DD = Dear Daughter, and DH = Dear Husband.

I could be wrong. I've barely been on these blogs myself.

  • I think you can safely say they are done growing AFTER the first real milk comes in. I thought I had to be done growing by the time I was nine months, right? Well when the milk comes in and you look like Dolly Parton, it can be a rude awakening! After the engorgement (sp?) goes down though, I think the worst is over :) NO you do not always go back to pre-pregnancy size either. Pre pregnancy I was a C cup and here I am on my 4th baby sporting a DD. After the first though, I hear they don't grow as much, if at all in subsequent pregnancies. I hope that is true this time around!

DD= Dear Daughter OR Due Date    DH= Dear Husband      DS= Dear Son :)

  • YES!!!!!!!!! I was just complaining about that! How is it that my boobs are bigger than my belly and I'm 8 months pregnant!!!!!!! Uuugggghhhhhhh!!!!!
  • DD = Dear Daughter

    DH = Dear Husband

I cannot wait to add a baby ticker to my profile!!! TTC this coming Spring 2011, hoping for 2012 baby!!
  • I have always had large breasts and they got even bigger when I was pregnant with DD. She was a premie and still did just fine. It took a little extra work on my part but we made do. Just last week I had surgery to reduce my 40F. I still have significant swelling but it appears that I am a small D/large C cup. I am only 5' 1" and was having so many back problems because of them. My insurance covered the procedure and my back is already feeling better. Good luck.
  • Ok, so yeah, I am sooooo over it as well.   Each pregnancy, I get another size larger - so I am now up to an 34E - I never even heard of such a size!  I am only 24 weeks and if they get any larger - well actually what - we have to accept it, cause to my knowledge there is nothing you can do about it!!
  • I worry about this all the time!  I was a G before pregnancy, thankfully I don't think they have grown much more since, but I worry while BF that she may have troubles breathing if I don't push my boob away from her nose.
  • Oh I am right there with you. I had big boobs before I gotpregnant now they're effing ginormous! I'm so over it! None of my bras fitright (even my brand new ones that are the right size) and no matter what shirtI wear I get self conscious cuz I feel like my boobs are hanging out like I'msome kind of porn star!

  • I have read about this actually happening, but only if you fall asleep while nursing and are in a bad position.  It was fairly common in the days when women used wet nurses to nurse their babies instead of doing it themselves.  It seems to be pretty rare these days.

I am 28 weeks and have already gone from a 34/36 D to a 38 E!!! and I'm only 4'10"!  DH is pretty happy...  Pam Anderson is his dream woman, so... I don't have to compete with her breasts for attention now! LOL I bought 2 nursing bras already and the stores around here don't even carry sizes bigger than E cups.  Lordy, what am I going to do when my milk comes in?!!  Also my nipples have been behaving oddly for months- the aureolas tighten/harden in spots giving a wrinkled lopsidded appearance,  big tracks (ducts?) appear in popped up in the skin around them, colostreum has leaked a little (leaving a kindof gross waxy substance), and they went from palest pink (almost impossible to see the aureola) to brown!  DH is utterly fascinated by all this of course and keeps calling me an alien & waiting for DD to pop out of my midsectionlike the movie! LOL nice.

  • Oh, is anyone else have major bra comfort issues?  I can't not wear a bra, they are too heavy for my little frame to carry around braless (oh, for my free spirited C cup 20's !).  But the issue that I am having is that having to go up to such larger cup sizes on my short body means the underwire pokes into my armpits and really starts to hurt after a short time!  Anyone know a solution for this?
  • Definitely! I hate the big boob thing too.  Guess it would be OK if I was just a B or C cup before pregnancy, but I was a 34DD.  I feel I have reached porn star status! Not to mention the trouble finding bras! I have had to order nursing bras and can only find them online. Furthermore, when you get this big, the bras are sooooo ugly. All beige and they look like surgical garmets due to the engineering involved.  Totally NOT sexy. THey look like grandma bras!

If anyone has any suggestions for cute nursing bras in size 34 or 36 J-K, let me know please!!!!

I have one bra on order from Her Room that might actually be cute, but I am not holding my breath.

Cant wait to have my "little 34DD's" back. Worried they will not be where I left them.

  • Get nursing bras without underwire.  They are much gentler on the breasts when they have the hormonal changes, and then you can usually wear them about 2-3 months after the baby arrives and you milk production has settled in to a routine. Right after baby is born, nothing fits right except a night nursing bra, but then they kinda settle down.  Definitely try the nursing bras. I switched to them in the 4th month for the same reason. Bravado has some nice ones and www.herroom .com has a good website with hard to find sizes, but ordering online might mean sending them back a few times, so if you live near a big city, research a place that might sell Bravado bras in a store, so you can try them on. I really like mine and I am a 34J.  Good luck.
  • first of all lol.... secondly I have always been a member of the ibtc (itty bitty titty club) so i am loving the bigger size so is my dh i actually have the need to wear a bra now so im happy... yes i know im silly but this is revenge for all you normally big chested women lol... now us smaller ones get to have cleavage and stuff...

    muahaha

  • Not to be the downer or cause a freak out, but that actually happened on a flight this summer. A woman was nursing her baby and fell asleep and apparently the baby suffocated. Yikes!!!
  • For everyone else out there who doesn't know the acronyms...here's a link to a whole bunch of them for your future reference
