I'm team green and I'm looking for classic, not too trendy, names for DC #2. DD is named Juliana. I keep coming back to Lauren for a girl and Christian for a boy, but I worry that they (1) Don't go with Juliana, (2) Are too dated and not really "classic" (3) And I'm not completely sold on either one, for instance, I really like Christian but is it weird to name someone after a religion? What do you think of each name? (HONEST OPINIONS PLEASE)
Love the name Lauren. I taught a Christian once and well he didn't live up to his name. I teach high school and he was interesting to say the least. I can not help but wonder if naming a child Christian would automatically set his personality.
I think they are very nice names, definitely not 80's thought you were going to say something like Amanda or Tiffany : ) Christian is one of my favorite boy names however I have a friend by that name so it wasn't in the running for us.
I have a 3 year old cousin named Lauren, and think it's a beautiful classic name. Also have an 18yo cousin named Christian, who also isn't very "christian" but that might be part of what makes him pretty awesome. So I like both!

I had the same experience.....x2. I had a Christian when I worked in a daycare, and one in my classroom last year. Both boys had "issues." I always really liked the name, but they both make me rethink the name.
Lauren was a very popular name in the 80's and 90's. Christian doesn't have a time frame for me, but I do think people are more inclined to think your child is religious with a name like Christian.
I like them both. I really like the name Christian and would've put it on our boy list, but it sounds too much like our last name so I can't. Good choices IMO

I've always liked the name Christian a lot. I also think it goes well with Juliana. Lauren is okay. I don't like it as much as Christian, but it's not terrible.
Re: Are these names too 80's/90's?

I really like both names. Christian is one of my faves for a boy.
I like Lauren too but wouldn't consider it cuz it's too close to my DD's fn.
hate christian
lauren is so so
I think it's weird to name your kid after a religeon. DH and I are Jewish and would never name our kid 'Jewish', KWIM?
I love the name Lauren though - we are most likely going to use it as a mn for a girl.

Don't really have an opinion about Christian.
