Babies: 0 - 3 Months

As new mothers, what is one item you can live without?

Is there one or even a couple of items that you think are superrrr important to you and your LO for your own sanity? Something you would recommend to every first time mom?

  • WOOMBIE - amazing swaddler
  • If you plan on breastfeeding then I rec. a BreastFriend Pillow.

    A swing

    A bouncer

    The Seahorse

A sleepsack/swaddle blanket combo.  It's really hard to swaddle a sleeping baby at 4am without waking them back up.  For me, everything at that hour with little to no sleep was difficult.

  • Loading the player...
  • at first it was the My Breast Friend

then the white noise app on my iPhone

    now it's the swing

  • some kind of swaddle.  in the beginning we used the swaddleme's but now she can get out of them so we use the miracle blanket.  that and plenty of pacifiers.
  • The Miracle Blanket and the Moby.  My DD hates her swing, bouncer, and doesn't seem affected by white noise.  We haven't tried the seahorse, but we have the Fisher-Price Rainforest aquarium and she tolerates it for maybe 10 minutes, max.

  • Our swing, the seahorse and some good swaddling blankets

  • Boppy, Kiddopatamus swaddler, and swing.

  • Wipe warmer - DS hated getting his diaper changed until we started using the warmer, now its not so horrible.

Boppy Pillow - helps with digestion after eating.

Swaddlers - makes things so much easier in the middle of the night for both DH and I.

  • My Breast Friend bf'ing pillow.  I like this a lot better than Boppy for feeding.

Boppy pillow, I use this to feed sometimes but mostly to sit baby in so he can look around and/or sleep (he loves this more that a bouncy seat, swing, etc).

The Medela manual pump they gave me at the hospital.  So great for first thing in the morning when I am super engorged and baby can't latch well.

  • pacifier, Boppy and swaddling blankets. LO has never been in a bouncer or a swing and we have gotten along just fine. Every kid is different!
  • Swing - it's where DD sleeps at night. She didn't like her mini cosleeper

If you breastfeed - My Breast Friend, Good Nursing Bras/Tanks, and a Pump. Even though I'm home and we EBF, I have to pump once at night to be able to sleep comfortably.

  • boppy, breast pads, swing, paci, receiving and swaddling blankets

  • so far.......swaddles/swaddling blankets.  He likes being wrapped up tight to sleep.  boppy pillow, for breastfeeding.  Our little lamb swing is pretty great too.  Oh & sleepers, he lives in them...they're much easier than onsies oe an outfit.

If you're bf'ing, nipple cream, ice packs, & breast pads.  Also my pump (pisa) saved me when I was engorged.

  • 1. Fisher price Rock N Play

    2. Fisher price Seahorse

  • Swaddleme  kiddopatomus blankets, Little Lamb Swing (Fisher Price), and "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Harvey Karp book, DVD, and CD (white noise). His techniques have helped us so much!
  • 1 third the seahorse! A few other things are a Soothie, sleep positioner, boppy pillow, play gym, and those sleep gowns.

  • A swing and those swaddlers that have the velcro.  My baby got out of her swaddle even in her first month with a regular blanket.
  • Fisher Price Little Lamb Swing, Soothie Pacifier, Homedics Sound Spa Lullabye Machine and Miracle Blanket.
  • BOPPY! Also, love the Halo swaddler.
  • I know this may sound nuts, but cable TV. My DS loves jazz music! He was born to jazz music and likes to fall asleep to it. If I did not have cable with the music channels I know that I would have some long nights. Also the boppy. He loves sleeping in it.
  • Definately a mobile, my baby is fascinated with it. Oh yes, buy a couple of lullaby baby cd's, those calm my baby down.
  • It'll be a little different for every kid, but for mine:

kiddopotamus swaddler, tons of burp rags (cloth diapers), bouncer, breast pads

  • A Baby Bjorn.  I can wear it, and my DH can wear it - he won't touch a moby, understandably - and you can put it on in five seconds, which is sometimes necessary :p

Cloth diapers.  Yep, I think they're necessary... after comparing them to the blowouts experienced with disposables, there is no way I want to be subjected to that many outfit changes a day ever again, haha.

  • Totally my Cooshee Changer... a friend recommended this to me when I was like 4 months pg and I decided to get one. It is soft and she loves getting changed on it... she also loves blow-out pooping right when she is being changed so it has come in mighty handy. We just keep a container of clorox disinfectant wipes right in the diaper drawer and wipe it down when this happens. Otherwise I'd be washing a changing pad cover every day!

    My Breast Friend for breastfeeding

Boppy for holding and proping LO up

Sleep Sheep for white noise at night

    A good nursing bra

Ameda Pump.  I EBF and staying at home, but it has really helped when I need to give my sore nipples a break and can just tell DH to give her a bottle!  I'm also starting my freezer supply.

    Good Luck!
