I notice that alot of you talk about "follicles". That is the egg that
develops in your ovaries right? I know that's a silly question but I am
new to taking fertility meds. How do I know if my follicles are doing what
they are supposed to. I should be getting ultrasounds right? My doc
isn't having me do that...just the meds for now BUT how do I even know
they are working?
You def. need to be having u/s. No your doctor is not doing enough - please find a new one immediately! Not only could it not be working (it didn't for me this round) there are a lot of things that can wrong if you are not monitored!

Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
Thank you so much for directing me to her thread. I think I need to talk to my doc soon! That is a really scary situation. I didn't realize it was that important!

If you are taking fertility meds and don't know what follicles are, then your dr isn't doing the proper monitoring. Are you seeing an RE? OB's are not fertility specialists, so they aren't knowledgeable about infertility issues. OB's sometimes just prescribe meds for the heck of it, without knowing if it's the proper protocol for their patient. Definitely see an RE!

Re: Is my doc doing enough?
Don't see an OBGYN. See a RE.

Ditto the pp's. You need to be monitored while on fertility medication. It can be very dangerous if you don't.
