The bottles I'm using have nipples for 0-3 and then 3-6 months--I switched at 3 months to the fast flow nipples but I find that my babe has a hard time with it. I find my baby has to work harder and it spills out more. For my middle of the night feeding, I use the slow flow nipple and then during the day, I'm using the fast flow nipples--a work in progress!!!
We switched when it was taking LO 45+ minutes to drink a bottle and he was getting really gassy (I think from having to suck so much). We switched a little before he was 3 months. Now he drinks 6 oz in about 15-20 minutes and almost no gassiness at all.
