I compare it to naming your daughter Princess. It's something poor people do to give their child status/importance in the world. Sounds fake and I would def. NOT use it.
the spelling barron seems to be popular among celebrities [donald trump's son and paris hilton's brother are both barron and i think i've heard of other celebrity kids with that name].
i grew up with one and have a good association with the name, though i can see how some might not like it. i definitely like it much more than aaron, but i hate that name.
for some reason, i prefer the spelling with 2 Rs, probably just because i've seen it more.

Not bad I guess...not my style exactly, but I'd probably lean towards using it as a middle name. I knew a guy named Baron and he didn't give me the greatest impression of the name.
My DH loves this name b/c he likes the nickname Bear. I think it's cute. I'm not sure what PP was talking about with the pronunciation but Barron is pretty straight forward with how you would say it and it does sound just like Aaron. Oh, and FYI Donald's son is named this.
Re: WDYT of Baron?
donald trump's son is the first thing that comes to mind.
the title is the second.
It's cool only if your last name is Von ______. That'd rock.
"Hi, I'm Baron Von Gunterspiel"
I'm undecided. I think it is kind of cute, but besides the title, it is just associated with too many companies/services if that makes sense.
Baron Motorcylce Parts, Baron Services, Baron Brewing Company, Baron Funds, etc, etc.

1. Donald Trump's son
2. Pizza
Ditto.
I have a hard time imagining people actually pronouncing it like Aaron. Baron is already a word, and it is not pronounced like Aaron.
Aaron = Air-uhn
Baron = Bahr-uhn
My husband's cousin has a little boy named Bearon.
I think it is okay. NMS but nothing terrible.
If you're pronouncing Aaron like "Air-un" you are clearly not from the northeast! haha. I think Aaron and Baron sound alike, but I'm from NY.
I like it, but it does make me think of the Donald.

I knew a guy named Baron when I was younger. He ended up badly but I can't attribute that to his name.
It is definitely not common.
It's a title of nobility. It's weird.
Like naming your child Lord or Emperor or Prince. NMS
