Stupid question re: pancakes

When you first give your LO pancakes, do you give it to them plain or with syrup?

I skipped the syrup and 'buttered' them with applesauce.

I did plain. But he hated them. So we will wait a bit before trying them again becasue they made a huge mess!

Might be messy, but could do a little syrup. DD has these maple sugar puffed snacks from gerber so I doubt it's harmful.

Mmmm, pancakes. What a great idea. I'm going to try that this weekend.

Plain.  Syrup is just sugar, so we skip it for now.  Fruit is a good idea.

Plain or with fruit puree. I thought syrup was a no no.

buttered a little, no syrup. I can't handle the sticky mess of syrup yet. But the butter helped the edges not get hard.

we started DD without syrup, then a few weeks later we were out for breakfast and DH gave her some of his pancakes with syrup and she didn't like it - so now she just eats them with a little bit of butter and loves them just like that!

A friend told me to do this too. Her DD LOVES pancakes like this still at 3 years old. I think it sounds pretty good too.

I give them to him plain.  When I do put anything on them (in the future) it will be jelly.
