I didnt find it useful at all, I already knew everything they were teaching.  The massages were nice though!!

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

  • 3 hrs. per class once a week for 3 weeks.
  • We'll be starting Bradley classes on June 5. We will complete them two weeks before my 9/7 due date - cutting it a bit close, but they are the earliest I could find after deciding to do Bradley. Hope this helps!

Yes.  We are taking Bradley Classes and they start May 27th and go 12 weeks, which puts me very close to my due date.

I am in my birthing class now.  It's 4 classes in 4 weeks with 2 hours each class.  I recommend it because it has really helped my DH understand his roll during the labor process.

  • We are part of a childbirth centering group, so we have a 2 hour group meeting once a month in place or normal monthly appointments.

Also, we are taking hypnobirthing classes at home.  They are 5 two hour sessions.

  • I'm still looking for somewhere that has them. The hospital we are at doesn't have anyone that does them so we would have to go to a hospital a few towns over.

  • With DD, they were 4 weeks long, about 2.5 hours long.  We took them during the week at night.  We took them in the month of October, and I was due in December.  DD ended up coming on 11/8, so we came close to the delivery day!

  • Ours is a one-day class from nine a.m. to six p.m. We're taking it in August, but I'm not due until early November.
  • Our hospital offers a one day 9a.m- 3p.m. class on one Saturday a month. We aren't doing "a method" type of childbirth so that is all we will have. Which reminds me, I need to register us for that soon!

  • birthing class is 2 Saturdays for 4 hours each (8 hours total). Taking them on July 10 & 17, due on August 7th.

During the week wouldn't work for us b/c dh travels for work and every Saturday is completely booked in June. I would have preferred to take them sooner, but it didn't work out that way.

  • I took a  Bradley classes w/ DS (12 weeks, although we didn't make it through them all) and I really enjoyed it
  • 1 class/week for 6 weeks. Starting in August!
  • My class is for 5 hrs on a Saturday. My breastfeeding class is for 3 hrs on a Thursday.

  • I'm starting a hypnobirthing class tonight - 6 sessions, 2.5 hours each.

If I don't end up needing a planned c-section, I'l also take an active labor class. I think that's a one day thing.

  • We took a class at about 32 weeks.  It was a one day class for about 5 hours which I would totally recommend if you are wondering whether or not to take a class.  I don't think we would've returned if it had been more than one day. I learned nothing, but DH feels MUCH more comfortable with the whole birthing process and since the class has been super excited to meet our LO (prior to that he was very nervous about everything).  It was very nice to tour L&D.

  • We signed up for them and went to two out of the 5 classes. I didn't get anything out of them, they were 2 1/2 hours long each and it was just awkward with the massaging and what-not.

I have read so many books and spent time on the bump that not that I know it 'all' because I don't think you can ever know it 'all' but I feel just as prepared as if I went to the class if not more so.
