Lower back pain?

A friend of mine just recently found out she was pregnant. She asked me to ask this on here...She is experiencing a dull lower back pain. Is this normal early on?

    God Yes.  Totally normal.  Mine was so bad the doc drew betas to calm me down.  My low back hurt so bad around 4-5 1/2 weeks I was cramping in the front from the back pain.  If she is spotting and cramping, then I would call the doc.  GL

    Like everyone said... yup, it's normal. I've been having lower back pains (especially when laying on my back at night) for a couple of weeks now. Today's been especially rough in the lower- back pain area.
