Thinning membranes

Just had my membranes thinned today. Anyone else has this and does it really do any good? By the way it doesnt feel very good. My dr. said most people have progress in 48 hours that seemed not true. Anyone?

    It only works for about 25% of people who have it done. I had it done with DD and didnt go into labor for a week.

    It worked for me the first time.  Put me into labor right away and DS was born less than 24 hours later.

    My doctor offered to do this at my next appointment. She warned me that it hurts but I'm curious how much. I think I'll go ahead and do it... just in the event I would be in the 25% it works for.

    I had mine done 3 days ago.  It was painful for me and had some spotting and cramping and occasional painful contractions but nothing else.  Yesterday though I started to lose my MP though!  Today I feel "normal" not much going on down there.
