  • Woke up with both kids in labor in the middle of the night.  Wasn't 'sure' for a few more hours until I knew the contractions were getting worse, etc. Up until then it was normal as you can feel at the end of pregnancy.

  • Well, my water broke at 3am while I was sleeping, but the day before DH & I both did deep cleaning in the house. It took us all day. But I wouldn't say I knew, b/c that night we talked about when we thought she would come & we both guessed the weekend (this was a Monday) 24 hours later, there she was!

  • I woke up feeling different. I had a WHOLE LOT of pressure that day and my water broke in the evening around 7 pm.
  • I don't know what I felt but, the day before he was born I walked probably 3 or 4 miles.  I wanted that baby out.  I went into labor that night and he was born @ 6 the next day.  I do know I had a lot of BH but, that's par for the course for me in late pregnancy especially when I walk a lot.

  • My answer is a little different.  I was induced with DS... but I didn't know for sure that I would deliver him that day.  It was a Friday morning and I had to go in for a BP check b/c it was really high at y appointment that Tuesday (3 days prior) but my doc wanted me to make it to 38w exactly.

Anyway, she said if my BP was high on Friday (38w), that she would send me right to L&D to be induced.  So when I woke up that morning before my 8am appointment, I kinda knew that "today was the day" type thing b/c my BP still seemed high.

The night before I made sure my house was clean and that everything was ready to go.  But I sent DH to work b/c I didn't want him to miss a day just in case they didn't send me. My sister (who has off in the summers) took me to my appt.

Well I got sent right to L&D to be induced!  I was SO excited and READY.  I was not nervous at all and I remember taking a ton of pictures b/c I just wanted to remember everything.  It was my son's birthday. <3

  • Nope. Felt normal. My 40 wk appt was a Fri. Induction scheduled for Monday. I went to a football game Sat. I fell down our garage stairs (3 steps), and landed on my hands and knees. My belly never hit so we just went on to the game. We walked a lot, had coffee and Mexican, went to the game and then I started feeling "not right". I was just out of breath, and tired 1/2 way through. On the walk back I had to stop several times to catch my breath. No idea I was in labor. We went to my brothers to hang his TV and then I was pretty sure. We went home to let the dogs out, call the Dr, dh showered and we left for the hospital. The contractions were not painful but very uncomfortable when I walked in the hospital. I was checked and 3cm and admitted since I was 1 1/2 at my Dr appt the day before.

  • Felt no different, did what I normally did the day before including walking the dog around 10 pm.  Water broke around 3 am and I still didn't feel any different!
  • I had no idea.  I still had 3 weeks to go before my due date.  I worked all day and then went to big cookout/party with my parents that evening.  I was walking around, talking to people, stuffing my face with yummy cookout food.  I got home at about 7:30 and my water broke at 8:30..I'd had no contractions and didn't feel any more pressure than usual.  Totally shocked my hubby when I called him at work to tell him were having a baby (at first, he thought I was teasing him!)  My daughter was born the next day at noon.
  • I didn't feel any different until after lunchtime...I was feeling crampy...like period cramps...so I decided to take a nap. When I woke up (b/c I had to go pee), my water broke!

  • I woke up thinking I had a really bad stomach bug because I couldn't keep anything down, or even in for that matter. That started at 112 in the morning. I finally called the Dr. at 915 thinking they would tell me to drink more water. They told me to go to the hospital because it was a sign of labor. Sure enough when I got there my lil stomach bug was active labor! My DD was born at 733 pm that night. The only pains I felt I thought where gas pains, until they broke my water!

  • with DD- I woke up feeling excited and anxious ot go to the doc, I was 40w 1d. I felt fine though. I went into labor while at the doc. Felt the same though.

With DS I was SUPER tired the day before. I woke up the next day to my water breaking. 12 hours later I had a baby.

  • I had been contracting and dialating for 2 weeks and was on bedrest. 2 days prior so delivery I was finally allowed up and about for small periods of time. I had been in pain for a few days so when I woke up that morning I felt like things were progressing but being a first time mom I did'nt know how intense it would get. By that night I decided we'd better check because I was having trouble talking through the contractions.

As for a gut instinct though, I can't say as I had one because there had been so many false alarms I wasn't really listening to my gut anymore.

  • I felt the same as every other day. I woke up at 1am for work after getting maybe an hour or 2 of sleep so I was exausted. Went to work, worked my full shift, went shopping, came home and took a nap. I woke up from the nap around 2pm with pains I'd never felt, called the Dr. who said it didn't sound like labor but had me come in... then they said "yeah, you're going to have a baby tonight".

Checked into the hospital and 6 hours later had a baby!
