Just wondering how much you ladies are walking throughout the day. I know I'm not the only who it "impatiently" waiting LO's arrival...do you feel like you're making any progress with walking?
I was walking 3-4 miles a day throughout this pregnancy but now my back just kills me when I try so I'm sticking to yoga and strength training (which strangely don't hurt my back at all).
I'm not walking much at all -- I was really hoping to walk more, but it's too cold out for me
Yesterday DH and I went shopping, a few errands and then full out grocery shopping to make sure we have enough to tide us over for a while after LO gets here... and my hips were achy (more than usual)!! Today I am definitely feeling more swollen and just tired.
I have my dr. appt today... so we'll see if I've progressed from the 1.5cm I was last week!
not much walking but i am pretty active, cleaning, running errands, working still, up and down stairs, but no progress. I have eaten spicy food and tried sex, nothing! so i guess i will just keep trucking along!
I think it just depends on how I am feeling. If I get on the treadmill I can go about 30 mins. but I am walking slow. I find myself just going to the mall or target just to walk around so I don't know how far I go but I just try to do something everyday...besides when I really don't feel well. It is amazing how good I do feel after I get off the treadmill -my DH is always worried when I am on it but when I do it I really feel refreshed and great so I would recommend it to any prego to keep walking!
I have been walking about 2 miles at the gym 3-4 days per week throughout my pregnancy so I don't know if walking is going to help me reach delivery any earlier. But, on the positive side, I feel like all the walking (and the 1 day of yoga and 1 day of strength training per week) has helped keep me pretty mobile throughout the pregnancy. My pace has really slowed down these last 2 weeks but I also agree with CJD -- I recommend anyone to keep walking (if you can).
Wishing I could walk more. Bed rest for this mama!
Walk about a mile a day with the dogs, and on days I feel better, I do the elliptical too. However, since he started dropping, all has become more painful!
DChunt09, didn't know you were on bedrest! The end is near!!! Sorry the Heels are probably letting you down!
If being a math nerd is wrong, I don't wanna be right!
Nada. I can't walk at all but I think it's because I didn't keep it up through my entire pregnancy like the first one. My hips stop working when I try to walk long distances.
I try to take at least a 20 minute walk a day. Shopping always makes the walk easier. I also sit on my exercise ball every night for about a half hour.
I try to keep it moving, but when i get walking i start contracting, which is good but then it promptly stops. So now that i got the Dr's "when ever he's ready" nod, walking here i come!!! I just need DH with me so he doesn't panic and some one can watch the clock!
Though realistically its probably just wishful thinking...
The only walking I'm doing is keeping up with DS#1. We walked this weekend at a park, but I haven't done anything extra. I'm tired just keeping us with DS#1. I swam almost everyday with DS#1, esp. towards the end.
