Don't load up before baby.  It is best to try out different brands to see what works best for your LO.  Same thing if you are going cloth!

It's pretty much just trial and error when it comes to diapers. You will find that whatever works best for you, might not work for other people.

completely agree with this. If you want buy 1 of each kind you are thinking of to start but do not go crazy buying all sorts of diapers.

I spent five hours online the other night reading about diapers (things you think you'll never do...), and we decided to cloth diaper, but the best advice I took from both CD and disposable fans were that when LO is brand new you should try a few different brands before buying a honkin industrial size package. All sources said to register or buy small packages of all the different brands and just see what works best. Some may be too big, too small, etc...GL!

This.  DS #1 was great in Luvs, DS #2 could only use Pampers.  It completely depends on the baby.

#1 we used pampers or huggies.  #2 was allergic to huggies, so it was only pampers.

Wait and see which brand gives you the least blowouts and leaks :D. Scrubbing poo out of onesies suck.

In the beginning, I really loved the yellow stripe turning to blue feature of the Pampers Sensitives.  Honestly I think ALL diapers should have this feature.  One look and you can tell for sure if he's wet or not!   They stop carrying these at size 2 or 3, sadly.  But if you want my opinion, at 3 in the morning with dim light, it was a groggy parent's best friend, that darn stripe!

From what I've heard, regardless of gender every baby is different. I probably would just get a couple different brands when baby gets here and see which one is better on YOUR baby.
