QOTD: Do you talk to LO when you're alone?!

As we all learn what "Team" we're on, please include your EDD! Thanks so much!

Here is our check-in for everyone with a due date in May 2010. If you would like to be added please post your bump name, real name (optional), age (optional), and your EDD (expected delivery date). If we missed you at the last check in please post again.

If anything has changed, like your EDD after an ultrasound, please post an update with your original EDD so you can be easily found on the list.

If you are listed in the due date unknown list, please update your due date for us so that you can be added to the correct date.

Check-ins will be Mon, Weds, and Fri mornings. A link to the Check-in will be posted in the late afternoon/early evenings of Check-in day as a reminder. Feel free to check-in any time that day. Give us a general update on your progress and anything else you would like to add. We will have a question of the day as well.

the only time i'm alone is for a few minutes in the shower between DD busting in. i use that time to sing songs intended for LO.

Do you talk to LO when you're alone?!

Sometimes at work but when I am home DH and I talk to the baby together a lot. Even DD talks to the baby. Now that the baby is kicking more I do say something afterwards to him/her.

DS and I were talking to her last night. I'm trying to teach him that there's a baby in my belly. Now he just comes up to me and pulls up my shirt and points to my (now outie) belly button. I've started saying "baby" to him last night, so hopefully he'll make the connection (even though I don't think he knows what a "baby" is yet, lol)

I talk to him mentally all the time, haha, but not out loud. I haven't had any major movement (i.e. kicks) yet, just lots of vibrations, light tapping, and flutters. I bet once he's moving around a lot more I'll start talking to him. I do sing "to" him when I'm alone in the car or house though.

Also, we are Team Blue. (EDD May 22nd)

Sometimes....I always say something to LO after he/she kicks and the other day DH kept asking him/her what item they would prefer as we were registering. I'm sure some of the folks at BBB thought we were nuts!

I do once in a while, but not nearly enough. I think part of the problem is that most of the time that I'm alone is when I'm commuting to work or sitting at my desk in my office--Talking to the baby in my belly would probably not go over well in either of those situations!

^^^^this! DH frequently puts his mouth up to my belly and shouts "HEY PEANUT! THIS IS YOUR DADDY!" and keeps talking to her, it's really hilarious.

I try but it is still a little strange but DH has no problem in the area. The things he says can be pretty random but the baby seems to respond to his voice alot. Which is cute. It makes me feel that they are more bonded than that baby and I have.

I don't really talk to the baby. I tend to talk more to the dog about the baby. I'm sure once I feel it move more I will do more talking

I talk to her all the time. When I'm at home, in the car, in the shower, and even when I'm at appointments for my work. I work with a bunch of kids and if the baby kicks me I'll say "ok, hold on. I'm almost done here." The kids look at me like I'm crazy or like I'll be a great mom. I'm sure I'll be a little bit of both. DH doesn't really talk to her, but he loves feeling her kick.

I do when I am alone, in the car on the ride home from work, or laying in bed watching tv... or even when i am in the shower sometimes. DH doesnt talk to my belly yet.....he still doesn't seem too interested in it..I'm hoping he will soon.

I haven't talked to her much yet, but I'm starting to now, mostly when I'm alone, and I'm also trying to sing to her, although I feel kinda silly.

DH and I just recently started reading to her at night. DH especially likes to do it, because he wants her to hear his voice. Who knows if she can here it, but it is nice, relaxing bonding time for DH and me.
