My MIL just e-mailed me and wants to throw my shower at her house. I know it's not uncommon even though technically taboo, but I just wasn't expecting it and had honestly planned on not having a shower, since I don't like to be the center of attention. I'm just curious about who is throwing yours![Poll]

I also don't like to be the center of attention. But this is my first baby and my mom's first grandbaby...she's so excited! I think the shower is more for her to put her energy into something
My mom will be throwing mine. In my area, showers aren't nearly as big a deal as some places and it's perfectly acceptable for mothers/MILs to throw the showers. A few friends will be helping out but my mom (and probably to some degree, I) will be doing most of the planning.

True, this is also the first grandbaby on both sides! I think my MIL was a little disappointed when I told her a while ago I didn't really need a shower. She must really want to do it, otherwise she probably wouldn't have brought it up.

She was so sweet. I threw her and my BIL a huuge engagement party so the second she found out I was pregnant she was like "I get the baby shower! I get the baby shower! I am SO throwing your baby shower, yaaaay!"
I put other because I'm going to have two. My sisters will throw me one for my family and my friend is going to throw me one for my friends. I have a VERY large family and they are rather conservative and my friends are wild. Just not a good combination.

I placed my SIL in charge before anyone else could jump in. I hate baby showers, and I esp hate baby shower games. I would like a guy/ girl "party" as I hate attention too and she's the only one I know will respect my wishes. I may sound like a brat but I would be misserable at a traditional shower
I voted another family member but it's my 2 sisters, my 3 sister in laws and 2 very good friends. I'm having only one shower (didn't want each side to throw me one) and they all wanted to help. One of my sister's though is the main organizer.
That's a good question. Noone has even mentioned a word about it. I would guess since noone really talks about me being prego, that a shower hasn't even been considered.
I'm not sure. My mom has been talking about how it's going to be hard to pick a date, so my impression is that she is planning on throwing it. My MIL will probably help out too. They live 5 minutes apart, go to the same church and have the same friends, so it will be unavoidable.

I'm pretty sure I'll have more than one...
One from my aunt (my side of the family), one from DHs side of the family and probably one from work.
