Vent: He will not sleep on his back. Ever.
My child will not sleep on his back. ?It scares the crap out of me. ?I hate it. ?
DH and I are sitting here arguing about it - he thinks its okay for Hunter to sleep on his tummy. ?I am about to lose my damn mind with the fact that he's not getting why its not okay.?

Have you tried a swaddle + a nesting boundary? My sister's a NICU nurse, and she says the nesting boundaries work really well. They sell them at Target...here's a link:

Yup...we do that too. ?I think I just had an image in my mind that my newborn would be the perfect back sleeper...and am frustrated that he's not. ?Its silly because about 70% of the time he ends up in bed with us anyways. ?Which is totally against any recommendations regarding SIDs.?
the only thing i recommend is to keep trying. it would take us hours to get DD down in the early weeks because she would wake up and fuss as soon as we put her down. she's be out as soon as we picked her back up, so it was a constant up and down until she was so tired she slept a few hours.
you probably do this already, but you we would rock her back and forth with our hand, shhh loudly, and sometimes that would get her back to sleep. didn't work every time though.
when she got to be 8 weeks i called the pedi and he ok'd her sleeping on her tummy because her neck was so strong and she could pick her head up and turn it.
Sleep positioners are also a SIDS risk.
My son will sleep on his back in his PnP but prefers to tummy sleep on us. I don't worry about that when he's right with us.

Day Three
My pedi ok'd us using a sleep positioner...plus we do have the angelcare monitor too. ?
I wish he'd sleep in his PnP. ?Or his swing. ?Or his bouncer. ?Or anywhere that isn't associated with my body/DH's body. ?Its not that we don't love holding him - I'd do it all day. ?It just makes me so nervous to sleep with him in bed with us!?
Oh trust me...I won't. ?DH won't either, he just doesn't get why I'm so adamant that it be that way. ?
I am hoping that by 2 months I can convince our LO that sleeping on his back isn't so bad. ?I can handle 2 months of getting up every ten minutes.?
Keep trying. He's still so little, he'll get the hang of it soon enough.
