Growth between 16 & 20 weeks?

I am 16 weeks today, and I keep reading "watch out, get ready for a big growth spurt"! I am going on vacation at 21-22 weeks, and I'm trying to find a swimsuit. I'm figuring I'll need a maternity suit, but I just wonder what kind of growth you all experienced during the weeks between 16 and around 22? Is it a big jump?

I'd love some pics between 16 and 20 if you have them! Thanks so much!

I didn't have much of a giant growth between 16 to 20...but it was a couple pounds.inches at least, all in the belly and/or boobs. I would get a maternity bathing suit top and you can always wear some tie up bottoms. That should be enough for your vacay.

I don't have any pics, but I am definatley showing more now! My SIL bought a maternity swimsuit around 16 weeks though, and she is now 36 weeks and it still fits just fine, so I think as long as you get something that fits the butt and boobs you shouldn't have a problem.

I didn't take any pics until 22 weeks, but I definitely went from barely showing to showing between 18 and 22 weeks. Plus, I gained a ton of weight (probably 7-8 lbs) between 14 and 20 weeks, to my horror. I can still wear most of the clothes I bought around 16-17 weeks but I would not recommend buying any tight maternity shirts. I have not been brave enough to even think about swimsuits.

I didn't have much change between 16 and 19 weeks. I've gained all my weight since 19 weeks (8 whole lbs or so). I go to the doc tomorrow and will know exactly after my appt. I definitely have changed shape from bloat to pregnant since about 18 weeks.

I think it depends on the person but I grew quite a bit from 16 to 20 weeks! I've still been wearing my two pieces tho. I'm pretty petite! I would just plan on a few extra inches on the belly and possibly the boobie area!

definately depends on the person -- i definately "popped" around 21-22 weeks. I would say with a swimsuit it would be too hard to buy ahead of time. I can still wear my same bikini. If you're buying a maternity suit, I would expect them to be loose to grow with you.

Yeah, since this is my first, I don't know what to expect as far as growth. I'm usually perfectly comfortable in a 2-piece, but I'd rather have something to cover my blooming belly at this point.

I'm just afraid to wait to buy a swimsuit, because by Labor Day, they may all be gone!

Everyone is different, but I started to really show around week 20. I hadn't really gained a lot or started to show before that, now it has really poped out. Still, I haven't bought a bathing suit yet. I can still fit in my tankini top, it just rides up, so I often will go in some shorts with my top, or a T-shirt over it depending on who i am with. I would plan on the stomach expanding as well as your boobs growing some. Have fun.

I grew a little b/w 16 and 18 wks but b/w 18 and 19 wks there has been a huge difference! Pics in blog (I have yet to put my 20 wk one in there). I got my maternity tankini from ON for ~$15...sooo worth it! GL!

Just double checked the calendar, and I was a whopping 2 weeks off... I'll be 22 weeks on vacation. I know that the size won't really matter, as long as I can find a suit I'll be comfortable in. Just looking forward to some much needed beach time!!

I bought my maternity swimsuit at 22 weeks 3 days. Before that, I could wear my regular suits & a regular tankini. I love the suit I got (from motherhood maternity!) and it was worth it!

I don't have any pictures posted but I gained the most weight between 20 and 23 weeks. I was actually in shock (and a little denial) when I was weighed at the doctor's office. My doctor did say that it was probably just a growth spurt and shouldn't be an indication of weight gain for the rest of my pregnancy. I sure hope she was right!
