2nd Trimester

NBR: John & Kate + 8

Are getting 2 puppies...wtf are they thinking.  We have 1 (and a 1/2) kids and the dogs are soooooo much more work than the kids.  GL to them!  And jealous of all the good furbabies out there!

Re: NBR: John & Kate + 8

  • I couldn't have more than one puppy with all those kids. I'm not quite sure how I'll handle my 9-1/2 year old dog with ONE baby.

  • I was actually VERY surprised at the preview when I saw they were getting 2 puppies...Kate is soo controlling & neurotic (sp?) I can't believe she is doing it.

  • Yeah, I really don't see how neat-freak, control-freak Kate and dogs are going to mix here.  I am thinking that in 1-2 years we have a rehoming scandal.

  • My response was two puppies and new flooring is not a good idea. They did that totally wrong. Plus with all those kids its going to be very hard to train,
  • I think children should be raised with animals so I do think it's good they are getting dogs...however it would have been much smarter and would work out better to adopt OLDER dogs who are already trained, love kids, etc.
  • I love that show; anytime I worry about raising 1 child I think about that show & sigh relief.  Kate is so organized though.....I am sure that she will have the pups peeing on schedule in about a week & not only that but the kids have their choir list & I am sure the the dog care will be on it & with 8 kids those pups will be going out ALL the time.

  • Honestly, Kate is such a neat freak that I'd be willing to bet that the show asked them to do it to stir up some drama.

I think it's really selfish when people who can't care for animals properly get them....and for some reason I have a feeling she's not going to have/want to do what it takes to potty train and discipline two (large) puppies.

I agree, I think it is the puppy thing that is hard...and they look like they will be big dogs

  • Are they trying to bring even more chaos into their home? You know that Kate is just going to b*tch about having to take care of them, pick up their poop, etc. As if 8 kids wasn't enough...

  • We have a dog and I would take another one in a hb =)

Then again, I know we could handle another one, lol.

  • So I hadn't watched in awhile and I watched last week.  How did they afford that new house!! It is so nice.  Is it because of John's job? Or did someone help them?
  • They just did it the wrong way.  The dogs should have came first, then children.  I have 2 large huskies and my first on the way.  My dogs are trained and love children.  They will be great with them and I love them like they are my children now.  I think dogs prepare you well for children.

But I do agree that they should adopt an adult dog already trained.  One of our was almost 2 when we got him and we really lucked out.  He's great!

John doesn't work anymore.  I'm sure they make a lot of money from the show.

I have a dog and a cat and on one hand, I'd love a second dog (or cat) but I know with a new baby coming, it will be too much work!  I can't imagine having 8 small children and 2 puppies!

John stopped working? I don't remember seeing that. I know that he was an IT specialist before. Of course they are making money from the show and they get free stuff all the time. Like I'm sure the new washers and dryers were donated by Whirlpool...they did a big plug on the last show.

  • I'm guessing the puppies will eventually turn into outdoor dogs, with all that land they have.

Pimpin' their kids IS their job! If you notice, everytime Kate mentions a specific brand the company comes forward to give them products.
Although I can agree with growing up with animals, I think it's completely selfish and irresponsible of them to get two dogs. Kate has said she is not an animal person. I forsee Ceaser Milan coming in to train their dogs for them. Let's give Kate her perfect world back.

They have a popular show, a book deal, speaking gigs, etc.

I really wish they would have adopted doggies from the shelter or a rescue, That would have been a great lesson to their kids and to all of the people who watch the show.  I also agree that if they had gotten older dogs, they may not have to worry about potty training and all of that puppy stuff.  Our dogs were about 1 and 3 when we adopted them.  It was perfect!
