I must have skipped this piece of trivia. Zane Grey's given name was Pearl Zane Grey.

His parents were Lewis M. Gray and Alice Josephine Zane and his children are Romer, Betty and Loren.

I love names and name history.


eta: The 2 spellings Grey/Gray are correct.

    This is probably going to make me sound like a complete idgit...but I have no idea who Zane Gray is.

    Zane Grey's first name was PEARL??? That's fascinating, thanks for sharing! 

    Another name fact:  John Wayne's real first name was Marion (which is my mom's name).
