Two Under 2

2 under 1 advice?

Hi ladies,

I haven't really posted here before. But I have a feeling I will be in the future. I have an 11 month old daughter, and we're expecting our son any day now (I HOPE!!! it's HOT!)

Does anyone have any advice to get through the first few days/weeks? Anything you found to be really helpful?

TIA!

Re: 2 under 1 advice?

  • My two are 11 months apart. Newborns sleep so much that the first couple weeks were a breeze. I had help the first week which was great so they could give my son lots of attention. Good luck!

  • Thank you! That's what I'm hoping, that he will sleep a lot!!!! Also my parents live close by and will take my daughter out and about a little bit!

    Congrats on your 2!

  • While I didn't have 2u1, mine are 13m apart. The first few weeks aren't bad since nbs sleep so much. But the older does learn to occupy themselves quickly. Maybe get a special toy that engrosses her and only pull out when you need to tend solely to the littlest. That helped us so much as I was getting the hang of nursing (I didn't nurse DS) and it was hard to get up when he wanted.

  • Mine were 2U1 by 3 days..

We are only 9 days in.. though DS2 does sleep a lot, he also nurses a LOT, too.. I wasn't successful with nursing DS1 so I forgot how time consuming that is..

My DH has 3 weeks off, so that's a huge help..

Honestly.. the hardest part I've found so far is not having time for ME to spend with DS1.. DH has been occupying him, and family have been over to keep him company.. but my time is almost all focused on DS2 and nursing.. definitely the most difficult part and I hadn't really prepared myself for that!

Hope your LO makes his appearance soon!!  Best of luck :)
