My LO is 7 months old.
I work four days a week. I pump at work and feed exclusively from the breast at home.
I pump 12 oz/day in 3 pumping sessions.
LO often only takes 7 - 8 oz at her in-home daycare (her and one other baby - it's wonderful care). DH picks LO up at 4 pm and can sometimes get another 3 -4 oz in her before I get home at 6 pm.
I really, really wish I could get her to take the 12 oz before DH picks her up so that she'd be hungrier when I get home and so that, when I'm ready to, I could feel more comfortable night weaning her (which I had hoped to do between 9 and 12 months). I am not ready now anyway, but I wouldn't feel comfortable night weaning her now b/c I worry about her total input. Right now, this is her rough feeding "schedule" (we don't really have a feeding schedule).
7 am wake
8:30 oatmeal w/ fruit at nanny's house
11:30 bottle - 2 - 4 oz - I know the nanny is working to get her to take it; it is often just 2 oz, and then she will give her another 2 oz an hour later
1 pm veggie or fruit (1 ice cube size)
3 pm - 2 - 4 oz - same story as above
4 pm veggie or fruit (1 ice cube size)
DH picks up
5 pm - DH gives bottle - she takes 3 - 4 oz usually
6 pm - nurse
7:30 pm - nurse
somewhere between midnight and 4 am - nurse (she eats a lot at this feeding - she's usually 1 breast per feeding, but the MOTN feeding she takes both breasts); some nights she'll have two feedings, one around 1 and one around 5.
So, her intake while I'm at work is anywhere from 8 to 12 ounces, but it's afternoon-heavy, which means she's not really that hungry when I get home at 6 (although she always nurses - even if just for comfort). I'd really like to shift it to be more morning-heavy and for it to be a full 12 ounces (or more!) so that she'll be hungrier when I get home and, in a couple of months, I can start to think about night weaning.
I don't think this matters, but I plan to breastfeed morning and evening as long as she likes, but would like to stop pumping, or get it down to 1 pump session/day around 12 - 14 months.
ETA: Today she only took 5 oz at her nanny's so, even if DH gets 4 oz in her (unlikely), it will only be 9 oz since our last nursing session at 7:30 this morning! Also, her diapers and growth are fine so far. She did drop a little at her 6 month check up in terms of percentile, but she went from 85th to 70th, so we're not dealing with a small baby! Pedi didn't seem concerned about the percentile weight change.
