Tres or Trace boy name

We have a little girl named Teagan and are expecting 2. I have no girl names and the only boy name I like is either Tres or Trace.. Any thoughts on the spelling? I think Trace can sometimes be pronounced/confused with Tracy. and we won't know the sex until birthday!

I would definitely go with Trace. I think Tres would be frequently mispronounced.

oh, I would have said Tres like the French word (ie tres bien), tres to me would sound like tray. So I guess Trace, if that's the sound you're going for.

I think naming a child Tres is setting them up for a lifetime of him correcting people and their pronunciation. 

Why not name him Tracy nn Trace?  

As one who was named this (and after my great-grandfather), I can attest that this is a great name that people don't butcher pronunciation-wise.

I would think Tres would be pronounced tray which I actually like. If you really want the s sound you should choose Trace.

Trace, I would assume Tres needed to be pronounced with some sort of accent or I'd say it like Tres in Trestle not Trace.

I would never have pronounced Tres like Trace         I would just stick with Trace

Yeah, Tres would be "tray" to me.  If you want Trace, then name him Trace.

Most Trips and Treys I know are actually First Name MN Last Name III.
