What will you miss?

I know we are all super excited to be mamas in the next nine months. That being said, what will you miss the most now that you are pregnant?

  • Eating food, feeling human. I had hypermedia last time and was deathly ill until 16w. And then just sort of sick. Also traveling. With mypreemie history,I won't go more than 2 he's away after the 2nd tri.

    My alcohol.  I'm not an alcoholic or anything, but summer is the time I drink more (I don't really drink much in the other seasons).  Love to sit by a pool with some cold beer or pina coladas.

    I am right there with you on that wine. I normally have a bottle a week to just relax in the evening and I have decided at least in my 1st trimester to not drink at all. I think once I hit my 2nd tri, I will have 1 glass every few weeks to wind down.

     

  • Not very much because i don't deprive myself of a ton while pregnant. I had sushi two night ago, fabulous brie (pasteurized) yesterday - as long as things comes from reputable places and food is properly handled, i'm not a stress ball. Never was a big drinker so that wasn't hard to put on the back burner.

     Maybe caffeine? Last pregnancy, i had a huge aversion to coffee but, so far, i'm just drinking decaf. I know we can have one or two cups of coffee but i find it easier to cut myself off completely than to try to moderate when it comes to caffeine.

    It definitely was different this past holiday not have one drink, but I have been told that I won't miss it once I am further along....hope so cause right now DH is enjoying his drinks still and I am jealous Smile

    And not being able to drink. We're going on a beach trip in a few months with a bunch of friends and it'll suck not being able to drink with everyone else.

  • oysters... sumer is THE time for eating oysters over here... drinking... well I'll have a glass of wine every couple of weeks starting the second trimester. Sushi I'm making myself

  • Haha, agreed. I will miss my glass of wine at night. I, too, am waiting for the nausea to kick in and then I have a feeling I won't miss anything.. except maybe a hot bath every now and then!

  • Coffee for sure! I had to stop recently due to reflux, and would have the occasional decaf anyway, but now I know this will make it even worse so I have to stop. Boo :(

    I've been making myself virgin mojitos (I call them faux-jitos lol), which are delicious! It makes me feel like I'm having a drink, without any of the alcohol. It's pretty much the perfect summer drink.

  • Nothing.  It's only been the last three months that I haven't been pregnant and I missed it.  It feels "right" to be pregnant again, even though it's very early.

     ETA: Well, I do love Jimmy Johns, so I'll miss that.  I might still eat it now and again and heat it, but not until I feel much more calmer about this pregnancy.  I'll also miss chunk white tuna...I think chunk lite is so gross looking but I eat it anyway when I want tuna when Im pregnant.

    We call them no-jitos and DH has been making them for me.

    As my SN suggests, I love my wine and while I'll have a little later on, I definitely miss it. We're going back to Sonoma for a wedding in September and it's going to stink to be in wine country and not drinking. I was pregnant the last 4mo we lived there, too, so I'm already tired of being out there and not able to enjoy it!

  • I didnt deprive myself much last go around, but I'm missing caffeine something fierce. I do decaf on occasion, and caffeine free diet sodas, just avoiding on the summer bc I'm terrible about water and the last thing I need is to dehydrate.
