Ok I wouldn't necessarily call myself a hover mom, but I'm a first time mom and I wonder if that's how the daycare ladies see me. I just started back to work last week and my son is in a daycare facility that is literally right next door to my office. So on my lunch hour, I go there and feed him. I always bring enough bottles though (I EBF) so that if he gets fussy before I get there, they can go ahead and feed him. So my question is this: Is it weird or hover-ey to go there on my lunch every day? I'm new at this so I'm just doing what my instincts are telling me to do (if I was really following them and could afford it, I'd quit my job in a heartbeat). Another thing I do is call every day to see when he had a bottle last, so I know when to approximately go on my lunch break.
It's probably more for me than it is for him, because they're truly awesome at his daycare and I have all the faith in the world that he's getting his every need met. It just really breaks up the day for me to go and see him and it gives me peace of mind knowing that I can pop in whenever I want and just see how he's doing. I always said I wouldn't be one of those moms who wouldn't let their LO walk farther than an inch in front of them for fear of them skinning their knee. At this point, I'm just wondering if this is normal and if you could, would you do it?
