4.5 hours after my FIRST contraction, Logan Don made his entry into the world -- born at 5:02pm after 15 minutes of pushing, 19.5in long, 8lbs 3oz he looks just like his oldest sister. So far a very mellow boy as long as he is attached to my boob, which is also just like his oldest sister was! No tearing but some serious hemorrhoid issues may make recovery a little more painful but so far I feel great, if not in utter shock at how today unfolded! Ironically I had just told my boss and HR that Friday would be my last day... guess I gave new meaning to "working up until I deliver!" Good thing this is our last baby, otherwise we'd have to move into the hospital at 38 weeks. We didn't make the 2nd dose of antibiotics so Logan will have to have blood work to make sure he has no infection from my GBS status and we will have to stay the full 48 hours for monitoring but otherwise he is a sweet little healthy love! Driving myself here in active labor was an experience I am happy to never have to repeat, but if I had driven home from my patient's house and then waited for my mom, DH or a friend to get me, it could have gotten really close. I was on the phone with DH the whole ride and he helped me via phone get here safely but in hindsight I have no clue how I did it!
Thank you again all! Will post pics once I get home.
