Food? Plans? Traditions? Sparklers? (to do or not to do?)
July 3rd - my mom and I are going to the Hollywood Bowl (my favorite place on earth!!) to see Josh Groban and the LA Philharmonic...be jealous. Firework show during and after the performance.
4th - DH has to work on the 4th and 5th, so nothing during the day. Our street is known for having an insane amount of illegal Disneyland quality fireworks. Our neighbor has a band on the front yard and everyone just parks their chairs in the driveways and lights off whatever they have. I'm really, really not in to fireworks (my dad was a fire marshal and gave me an unhealthy fear of anything that lights and explodes). DH loves it but is clear that DS is not allowed anywhere near what he lights off...and knows not to push the issue with me.
5th - I have the day off and will be emptying my closets to prep for the installation of our new master closet system on the 8th! Eeeekkkk!!!
No major plans, the weather here has been so weird/rainy/humid, it's hard to plan anything..if it is nice out, I'll break out the slip and slide (I hope C likes it!) and spend time outside, playing and I'll attempt to grill..If the weather is crappy, I promised C we would bake cookies..
I'm just happy to be off from work and to have C all to myself..
The 4th is a big deal for the borough I live in so we stay home and host guests.
3rd - there's a street fair including a Battle of the Barrel between local fire departments.
4th - 5k race, airplane fly over and parade. Then an afternoon of everyone cooking out and enjoying good company and drinks until the fireworks which we watch from our backyard.
3rd - going out for half day on a boat on the lake, us, parents, bro/SIL.
4th - party with a bunch of people, they will bring sides, my dad will grill burgers, hot dogs, and sausage. I really want to try to make something cute off Pinterest but haven't decided yet. Watching the fireworks over the lake from the backyard
5th - Fireworks at night downtown
ETA: I would let C do sparklers, we have some of those bang/snap things too that you throw at the ground.
