Re: FFFC

  • I forgot to give my friend her birthday card last month. When I got home from seeing her and noticed it was still in my car, I threw the card out and scratched off the lottery tickets I bought her myself instead of giving them to her belatedly.

  • I have given almost everything my MIL gave us for LO away. Half of the clothes where hideous and I would never put him in it, not to mention we have a ton of clothes. She gave us other stuff we cant use don't want. She asked my husband the other day if we had used the stuff and he said oh yeah the outfits are really cute. He doesn't know I gave it all away. When he asks Ill tell him oh yeah your mom gave us this outfit, when really I bought it.

  • I haven't worn a bra in 2 weeks, minus 3 hours total when we had a doctors appointment.

I'm a bit casual about breastmilk storage standards. If little Snuffles doesn't finish a BM bottle, I just pop it in the fridge until the next feed, even if it is more than an hour later. Or...I just leave it out. I always smell and taste first to make sure its ok before I feed it to her again, but I've never had an issue.

I wish I could do this!! I hate wearing a bra and to sleep with one is just awful! But with my big boobs and breast feeding there is no way I could go without. Kudos to you for being able to pull that off!

  • I've tasted my breastmilk and think it tastes better than cow's milk -- sweeter.  I've wondered what ice cream would taste like made from my milk.  And then the thought struck me, if I make the milk and then consume it is the net calories 0?  Talk about low fat, low calorie ice cream!

Yes, these are the things I think about.  I also had a dream about LO latching on to DH.  Maybe I need to get out more.

  • I hate it when my MIL comments on my Facebook posts about LO... which is a problem because she comments on every.single.one!  And it's always something about seeing him soon or giving him hugs. The other day a friend asked me if she wqs really around as much as she implies on FB.

The funny thing is my family has probably seen LO more than DHs even though they live in town and my family doesn't.

  • I heard LO make a giant poop, but she really needs to sleep a little longer, so I'm leaving her alone for now and will change her when she wakes. I feel bad but she REALLY needs to sleep.

Also, it took me 3.5 weeks to realize I could cover the stroller with a blanket when we go out to keep her from waking/keep under cover from germs and looky-loos.

I've noticed that LO will cry when wet, but not if she's pooped. Seems to me it would be more uncomfortable to sit in poop, but it doesn't seem to bother her.

  • I am about ready to tell my MIL to shove it and and not come around LO until she changes her attitude I don't want her negativity affecting him. Yesterday she said some choice words to my husband and told him we were over bearing parents and how he is ridiculous with the baby. She also called him a Fudging sht head. She is a drama queen and the world revolves around her.

I'm relating to a lot of these today and I'm especially glad I'm not the only one who's a bit lax about leaving BM out.  I agonized over dumping a bottle that had been out longer than recommended the other day and it still bugs me to have wasted those precious ounces.

    Here's mine:

I've been having some supply issues so an LC (not the one I usually see) recommended I drink dark beer and make lactation cookies, so I've been using that as an excuse to have 2 dark beers a day and to eat cookie dough all week.  Doctor's orders!

Also, my parents are driving me effing crazy.  They came to visit last weekend for the first time since our quarantine and house arrest was lifted and I wanted to smack my mother.  The baby talk was like nails on a chalkboard.  Also, despite my explicitly telling them I don't want a bunch of pictures of DS on Facebook, it was the first thing they did when they got home, including posting an unflattering pic of me, unshowered, on my wall.  But if I say anything to them, their feelings will be hurt.  And now they're inviting themselves over on Sunday "Just for an hour" as they pass through town.  Yeah, right.  An hour my a$$.

Also, DH has been out of town this week.  On the whole, I'd much rather have him here than not but there have been some advantages to his being gone.  I don't cringe if DS is loud at night while DH tries to sleep, I don't feel bad if I let the dishes pile up and I can power pump in the LR without knowing that the pump noise is annoying the crap out of DH.

I've never done this only because DD just got rid of her yeast rash and I've been afraid that it would come back, but I did leave DD in her diaper for 8hrs last night so that I could test out my overnight CD combo for when she is sleeping through the night. She leaks through everything and it's taken me a while to find something that works for more than 2 hours (I still change her every 2-3 hours during the day).

Also, I'm going back to work on Sunday and I'm actually excited. I feel a little guilty because everyone told me that I would never want to go back after DD was born, but I've been counting down the days. I can't stand feeling like I'm not contributing financially and I want to save my PTO in case DD gets sick.

  • I went to the grocery store this morning before DH left for work and while our 2 year old and baby were still asleep. I was disappointed when I got home and they were both still asleep. I was hoping he'd get a taste of the crazy morning jugglingroutine while I was gone.

One of mine is that baby talk from my mom annoys the crap out of me, but baby talk from DH melts my heart. Total double standard, I know.

Me too! Nearly everything they buy has Winnie the Pooh on it and I really don't care for that. I also conveniently lost the jean shorts and light up sneakers they bought for DS1 when he was younger.

I have read that it is probably ok to put a half eaten bottle back in the fridge after one feeding.  You guys are probably safe if you put it back in the fridge.

I have nothing for FFFC today.  Just wanted to add that.

I also have big boobs and am bf and I haven't worn a bra in 4 weeks except the few times we've been out of the house or had people here. I have had some major leaks, which I definitely notice less of when I'm wearing a bra, but it's sooooo much easier to feed DD when I can just sit down with her and lift up my shirt!

If light up sneakers are wrong, I don't want to be right!  Confession: I cannot stop picking at the cradle cap stuff on dd's head.  I know I need to leave it alone but it's so tempting...

  • I have been getting LO to go in a basinette for some naps after five weeks of holding her but I tell DH that she didnt stay down long enough for me to do the dishes, laundry etc. this way he will do them and I can enjoy the small freedom.

Also, might be hard to explain without a picture but I'll try. I hate the headbands with flowers on babies hut love the ones with feathers and jewels. The confession part is that I probably only love the one with feathers because the baby I saw wearing it was super stinkin adorable!!

I can't think of a confession, which is weird because last Friday I didn't post because I had so many and couldn't choose.

I hear you. My son pees on us, himself, the wall, everywhere. He also screams and squirms. My daughter, on the other hand, has actually fallen asleep on the changing table.

If you hate the headbands so much, why is your LO wearing one in your picture? I love headbands on little girls with flowers or other accessories.  My daughter has a ton.  All you haters are just jealous of her collection and style:)

  • I wish there was a way to block someone on Facebook from seeing your posts without them knowing.

My FIL constantly comments on every picture to tell me how much my boys look like their dad and how it's just crazy how Identical they are.

For one thing my boys look nothing alike in my opinion but I can't stand him commenting all the time. I don't mind other people making comments but I think it's because he does it every time.

Plus he says things to get under my skin and I just ignore his comments without replying.
