  • I was really into Julia, Jocelyn and Roslyn. For boy I liked Jacob and Ethan.

I still love all those names.

  • I remember writing names down that I loved at that age! Ha-ha, I've always been a name geek Geeked

For a GIRL I thought Riley Danielle was cool

    - I would no longer use Danielle, and hubby didn't like Riley when we first talked about names before getting married.

For a BOY I loved the names Jacob "Jake" and Sage (due to Redskin's QB Sage Rosenthal at the time)

    - I probably wouldn't use either of these anymore. I don't hate them, but I have stronger preferences for other names now. (plus, they don't really go with our last name)

  • Boy : Cade

    Girl : Summer
  • Deanna Lynn. I loved that name so much, and was totally creeped out when a family friend adopted a little girl from China and used it (they didn't know my love for it).

    Mom to J (10), L (4), and baby #3 arriving in July of 2015
  • For girls I liked Autumn and girl names that could be shorted to a boy nickname - Jo (Josephine) and Sam (Samantha)

I don't remember any of the boy names.

  • For a girl, Sophia, Rosalind, or Sabine.

Never really thought about a boy!  Later, Pietr was considered.  Pronounced Peter.  But with that spelling.

Recently went to my college reunion...my friends confessed much relief that I did not name my son Pietr.

I remember liking place names like India, ireland, Montana, Dakota, Indiana. Safe to say I've changed my mind a bit!

I went to boarding school with a girl named Germany. Her dad was a German diplomat. When I left boarding school, I went to another school with a girl named Ireland and one named Asia.

Still love these names, but DH is the 2nd youngest of 5 and they were already taken when I met him.  Also, my style now leans toward the more uncommon names.

  • I knew since I was a teenager that I wanted to name a boy after my Dad- Duncan.

Girl: Brittany, Kimber, and Cassandra are 3 I can remember. The first 2 were after cartoon characters. Embarrassed

I would not use any of these girl names now.

  • A girl would have been Gemma.

Boy would have been Jakob or Lukas or some other "normal" name with a K in the middle.

Ya - I'm glad I've moved on from that.

Boy: Any name my future hubby wanted as bargaining grounds to use Joey as girls FN. Haha.

Welcome to the future 14 year old me. Your ploy didn't work!

Yup, I'm only 19 now but that was pretty much my plan with a different name choice. :P

  • This was my name list and ideal birth order in HS:

DS1:  Adam Benjamin Caleb (the first 3 names from my favorite movie 7 Brides for 7 Brothers)

DD: Alison Victoria Anne (a variant on my BFF's name, my favorite time period, my favorite literary character)

DS2: Aaron Cary 'Father fill in name here" (My favorite uncle, part of my maiden name, and a generous gift to let my future H pick the 2nd MN of the third child.)

  • For the longest time I was in love with the American girl names.  Felicity was still one of my top names for a girl, but DH didn't like it.  Both of my kids have names that I loved from that age, DD's I heard in a movie I think, and DS has a family name.

I did go through one phase when I liked a boy whose name started with a C, and my first name starts with a C. I thought it would be the best thing ever if we got married and all of our kids had names that started with a C too.

  • That's an easy one seeing as how I still have it written down!
Boy: Darrian Elijah, Micha Benjamin and Josiah Timothy
Girl: Gabriel and yes I know it's a boy's name but I liked it for a girl! Ruthie and Abigail

Darrian is still at the top of my list as it is the name of a dear friend who was killed in an accident when I was 10 and he was 8. My DH doesn't like it though so I can't use it and it breaks my heart as I promised Darrian at his grave that I would.

  • Amy or Audrey.

When I was 18 or so I was very much into Amelia and Tristan.

I still like those names, although they've become much more popular.
