It's a developmental thing and some kids are well into elementary school before they can lose the pull ups. Don't worry about it.

DS1 still wears one. Several pedis have said it's not a big deal and happens often. He sleeps like the dead.

My brother was a heavy sleeper so we had to just wait it out until he was old enough to hold it all night. I would not worry about this at all.

It's very normal. My DD just turned 5 and we talked to her about getting rid of the pull-ups when she turned 5. She ended up starting a few weeks before her 5th birthday. She always woke up wet too but once she went to underwear she did great.
