DD is 14 weeks old and EBF. At 6 weeks she had a bottle of pumped BM and did fine, few days later refused one but I blamed it on a different bottle. Shortly after had a couple more but it was quite a bit of effort on DH's part to get her started. I knew we should make an effort to do them more often, but I am a SAHM and pumping is a pain. At 12 weeks we were on a trip and I pumped in car to make the stop quicker...well that backfired since it was a 45 min ordeal to get 2oz in her. And that only happened because it was a Playtex Drop-in and I pushed the bag to squirt it in her mouth and she maybe swallowed half. So I am wondering if we are just outstanding luck or with a concerted effort she will take a bottle as there are a few things coming up where I would need to leave her for more than 90 min. I realize every baby is different but some BTDT stories would be helpful
DD#1 was 12 weeks old when we introduced a bottle and although it took some work, she did take to it eventually. I just couldn't be the one to give it to her (or be anywhere near her physically).
You could try the Lansinoh mOmma nipple. We were having a hard time trying to get my little guy to take much from a bottle when I went back to work (even though he had had bottles before that). After trying numerous nipples, he loves the mOmma!
My son has only had a few bottles, the first around 2 months. Have you tried using a faster flow nipple? We had to do that and he was fine afterward...he was just angry that it wasn't coming out quickly enough.
The lansinoh momma bottle is awesome! The nipple is shaped similarly to a breast and it was the only bottle my son didn't finish super fast (because the milk drips out on it's own on a lot of nipples and this one does not). Great for breastfed babies!
also try having someone else feed your lo with you out of the room. some babies refuse to take a bottle from you knowing you have the real thing right there!
