..like bonked over the head with a wooden car, or hit with a hand on purpose (these kids are 15 and 18 months), what would you do first? I'm just curious to know what is your first inclination? Do you address the hitting first, or consol your child and then address the hitting?
I ask this out of curiosity more than anything, as this is something that I've had to deal with recently. I have chosen to grab the boys hands and firmly say, "No! We don't hit. That is not nice. We use our hands for gently things." or something like that. Then I pick up my daughter and hug and console her. After he did it a few times throughout the day, I added in, as I was hugging my dd, "See, when we hit you can make people cry. She is sad."
Anways...just curious, as I said.
