Throw it out?

Good morning ladies.  So I was so proud of myself and made my first round of baby food in my new Baby Beba Babyfood maker....then I noticed I skipped a step in the sanitize/prep of the machine.  I washed all the plastic parts in VERY hot water and soap and rinsed them.  However in the metal part where the water goes, the instructions read "Before using for the first time: for reasons of hygeiene, complete 3 cooking cycles (water only) Then clean the bowl and accessories with warm soapy water.

I only cooked 1 sweet potato...so I am not talking a huge money loss (1.99). MIL says keep it but my brain says toss it and make a new one after running the cycles.....what would you do?

I think with a normal and healthy LO, I would keep it.
