I'm venting here so I stop venting to DH.
DH's step sister is expecting #1. I offered to throw her a shower. Granted I offered WAY in advance but I did say that of course it was very early so she doesn't have to answer now and if one of her friends offers and she prefers that then it is no problem for me, etc, etc.
So her mom, DH's step-mom, was really coming down on me about how SIL doesn't give a "rat's a$$" about registering, and blah, blah, and cutey isn't her style and blah blah.
Fine. Who said anything about a cutsie shower, anyway?
And SIL DID register for her wedding so...? Oh, right, supposedly her friend did all that registering for her. Oh, but she sure did accept all those wedding gifts...so...maybe investing a smal bit of time in a baby registery would be a worthwhile investment of her time?
Then over Father's Day brunch when asked if she was hoping for her a girl or boy her response was, "Boy! I hate girls!" My 11 mo old DD was sitting right at the table. So was I. So...nevermind the rudeness, but really? Who says sh!t like that? She is 38 for goodness sake! So I'm annoyed about that too.
I always thought that offering to throw someone a shower was a generous offer. I am truely hoping her friend offers to throw her shower. Given her and her mother's attitudes I really am no longer up to it.
