Let us guide you along week-by-week!)
Sorry ladies, I've been a bit MIA. I miss working, it was much easier to make replies on this board from a real computer vs. a cell phone, lol.
What's new in your world?
Things have been crazy here! We bought a new house here in Ohio and closed on our PA house, potty trained Elyse, and visited Chicago for memorial day weekend, followed by a trip to Columbus for a funeral. Oh, and I started E in preschool 3x per week for a few hours in the morning. It has freed up some time for me to do some serious job hunting. I had a phone interview yesterday so FX!
Anyway, Spencer is 12w old yesterday. He loves his hands and I have caught him a few times reaching out to grab a toy. His favorite toy is his burp cloth, though he has shown some interest in Sophie. I hope he likes it because DD never did and it would be nice to see one kid get some use out of that expensive dog toy, lol.
We put him in the crib 2 nights ago. The first night was terrible and then last night he surprised me by sleeping his longest night ever, 9.5 hours! Let's hope he keeps that up! He was mostly sleeping 6 ish hour stretches otherwise. He's still a very even tempered baby, mostly crying just when he is hungry or tired. He's starting to pack on the lbs too, just like E did. Month one he was in the 50%, month 2 he was in the 75%. Can't wait to see where my chunky monkey is next week. It appears I just make babies that like to eat, lol.
And to AW myself, I BF E for 12w and I promised Spencer I would do the same for him, despite not really enjoying it and finding it difficult to feed him and chase after Elyse, especially since we started the potty training. Well, I made it! Excited to start weaning now!
Here's a pic from this morning:
I guess I'll check in even though I am not quite TTC again yet.
I am 2 weeks post D&C. I have an appointment next week to do a post-op check and hopefully take blood for my repeat loss testing.
Hopefully we'll be able to TTC #3 again in August or so.
Kate ~ 7/3/09 *** Connor ~ 11/11/10
3 losses: 2007, 2009, 2013Currently TTC #3
Well, my baby is not a new baby or a baby at all, but I have to AW. She is talking up a storm and it is so cute! And so so very different from our experience with Charlotte, who is in speech and you have to practically pull every word from her mouth. Amelia will parrot anything we say and she understands so much. Now when I say "Where's Charlotte?" she will start going through the house (or wherever we are) saying "Char Char, aaaare yoooou?" and she says "I love you" which just melts me heart. She loves to read and will go and grab a book and run over and when it is done, go back to the shelf and grab another one.
Also, we'll be joining TTC soon, hopefully August - can't wait!
I'm 37 weeks today! I was 2 cm dilated, 60% effaced at my appointment yesterday. Baby girl is head down and I'm feeling lots of bumps against my cervix. I'm ready to meet her!
I've been nesting like crazy, cleaning and organizing everything in sight. I'm a HUGE planner/preparer (is that a word?) so having things ready is a must. It makes me anxious to not have things in place.
Physically my back is still really bad, I see the chiropractor weekly to pop my right SI joint and hip back into place, but it just goes back out again a few days later. It's been rough trying to keep up with Colby, but we're making it! The countdown is on!
I'm at 23 weeks and change and really starting to feel Baby G move around. I'm feeling okay, finally getting some of that 2nd trimester energy and hoping it doesn't crap out too soon. But the nausea seems to be coming around more often again, so I'm not real thrilled about that and I've already gained *gulp* 20 pounds. Oh well.
We moved LO to his new room over the weekend and it's gone fairly well so far. He's sleeping in his twin bed and seems to be okay with moving from the "baby" room to "his" room.
It's fun to see how fast these babies are growing!!

I stopped bcp in March and had one normal post-bc cycle and now one crazy one. I'm nearing the 60 day mark with no ovulation and no AF and will call my doc if nothing happens in the very near future. My thyroid meds were also recently adjusted, so I also think that might have something to do with it.
We will TTC #2 this fall after DH comes home.
Sabrina turned 5m on the 15, had her check up yesterday and she's 15,7 lb (80%) and 26 in (90%)
She's sitting, rolling back to belly, constantly chewing on her hands, feet, shoes... and her bottom teeth are starting to work their way out. We've given her some bites of fruit and veggie but have yet to get serious. She just a happy and faily easy baby
Here she is on Sat

I've been thinking about you. Sounds like you have a great plan in place. So glad to hear that!
Things are going good. We are just now departing the world of sleepy newborness. She's started to cluster feed some in the evenings but it's only been 2-3 days so hopefully it's not a permanent thing. Otherwise she will go almost 4 hours without feedings during the day and 5-6 for the first stretch at night. She is a noisy sleeper though! Once she starts going through a light sleep cycle she wakes me up. So even though she's not awake I still am. We might try putting her in Teddy's room once she outgrows the pnp, which will probably be in a month given her weight. She otherwise is a really good baby and while she loves to snuggle, especially when awake she sleeps in her bed waaaaaaaaay better than Teddy ever did! Of course all this can change but for now I'm counting my blessings. She also nurses differently than T did. At this point it still took like an hour for him to eat and he was eating every 1-2 hours. She's done in like 20 minutes. But she doesn't fall asleep/get distracted/spit up/need 25 burps/poops 5 times like Teddy did either. She is definitely growing though my scale sucks so I'm not quite sure how big she is but I can tell she is going to be in 3 month clothing before too many weeks!
I think the biggest thing is that I was insanely worried about the transition period and felt guilty that we conceived faster than planned. DH would constantly tell me that things would all work out once she was here. He certainly was right. And I've been really fortunate that my mother has actually been able to and followed through with coming over whenever I ask for help and we agree on a time. This is a big step for her, to actually be someone I can rely on and have her come when she says she will and a huge relief because I was expecting to need to hire someone.
Teddy is still doing great with her. He will sometimes ask to hold her, he loves to give her hugs and kisses but isn't so interested in her that he's getting in my way or trying to get to her in an unsafe way and so far no jealousy.
The only sucky part is that DH's work is really shorthanded and he is working really long hours and sometimes extra days. But he is generally home before T's bedtime so he does still get to see him and help me out.
Well, my baby is only a baby for another five days! I am not sure how that happened. But she's looking more and more like a kid:
In the tough days over this past year, my mantra has been that at a year old, things get easier (this was true for DS, who was such a challenging baby). And we're already seeing that happen. DD is sleeping better (except when she's teething, like Tuesday night!), walking independently, talking, interacting with everything, getting close to 1 nap that is timed with DS's nap; understanding a ton, playing with DS and DS is playing back(!!!!).
Things I did not expect: Three of DD's first words are "vroom", "Bob!" (for Bob the Builder), and a fake burp. She's got a tooth! and a bunch more about to break through (DS was toothless until 15.5 months).
Coming out of the woodwork here...things have been a little nuts for us so I've been laying low.
I'm in 3rd tri already yikes! Slowly picking up things and getting things set up in DD2's room. I haven't washed any baby clothes yet but I probably should start thinking about it. We found out last month that DD2 may have a heart defect but we won't find out for sure or any more details until July 12. Other than that, not a lot going on. Taking my glucose test tomorrow yay.

Hope your doctor can help, I think I remember you saying most women in your family have IF issues so I hope it's just coming off of bcp or needing to fix thyroid meds instead!

i hope you find out good news on the 12th. at our anatomy scan, they suspected DS had a heart defect but the echo showed nothing at all was wrong.
Well, my baby is also no longer a "baby", but a toddler. :( I can't believe it has gone so fast! It seems like yesterday I was hardly sleeping and trying to figure out feeding my newborn (had issues the second time around with BF and she had reflux/MSPI).
She is now off reflux meds and I have been trying to introduce dairy to her diet. She eats cheese and yogurt just fine, but she pretty much refuses to drink milk. Her preference is water. She will take that above formula any day. So it is hard to introduce milk since she just won't drink it. We go in on Friday for her 1 year appointment. Her growth has slowed, but I'm sure she will still be on the high end of the charts. She is a super happy baby and loves to laugh. Her first word was "hi" and her second was "momma". :) She's crawling still, but is just starting to stand without holding on to anything. She loves to walk with a walker, but is still pretty stiff legged. Oh, and she ALMOST has enough hair to put it in to a clip or something. :)
Here's a picture of her from her actual birthday:
Our little guy is almost 10 mos. He army crawls like there's no tomorrow. He crawled on his knees maybe twice and decided that it wasn't for him. So, he just sweeps our floors with his belly. He had a major growth spurt and has still been gaining weight steadily even if he's small for his age. He's the happiest baby I've ever seen, and he'll play with his blocks or something for like 10min on his own - so easy, too! He loves to watch A run around the house.
We're weaning this week. My milk totally dried up - I realized yesterday morning that he wasn't swallowing anything because there's nothing there. He was already on daytime bottles, so we'll go full-time with that. I don't even feel guilty/sad, etc. We just had two funerals in the immediate family in one week, and I think the stress/grief sent my body over the edge.
