Re: FFFC

  • My confession is that I'm bored. I can only watch so much Live, Rachel Ray, etc. while BFing.

Although I don't want time to pass too quickly, I can't wait until next week when MH finishes teaching for the summer and I have a grown up around to talk to.

I love being able to provide breastmilk for my son, but I'm not a big fan of BF. It takes so much time out of my day. I feel like I'm just sitting around watching tv waiting for the next feed. I know he will get better, but at the moment it takes him 45 minutes to an hour. I'd rather just pump, and give him a bottle.

  • I give LO atleast 1 to 2 formula bottles a day. Sometimes I just don't have the time to BF him. I also gave my kids capri suns with breakfast today, its my daughters birthday and its what she wanted so I gave in. Of course you can't give 1 something and not the other. Somedays you really have to pick your battles.

  • DS1 has been watching way too much TV since DS2 arrived. Right now, he's watching Monster Trucks on Netflix because DS2 screams every time I put him down. He also won't let me sit down when I have him in carrier.
  • BF is killing me. I'm jealous that my husband gets time to sleep, and I know its irrational to ask him to stay up and watch me nurse. It makes me feel like a single parent. I'm waiting for the good part to kick in.

Second one is, I can see how people end up with Irish twins. DH has been looking goooooood. If it weren't for the fact that my vagina is in constant pain, I could get in some real trouble, lol.

Have you considered asking your husband to get the baby when he/she wakes up, change the baby, then bring him/her to you? That way you both participate in the overnight wakings and you get a teeny bit of a break.

I don't bother now because MH has to work and I get to stay home... But in 1 week when he finishes teaching for the summer, he will participate more overnight.

This! I manage the feedings and he does the diaper duty. This way we both help it during the night. There are sometimes when I let him sleep and take on both, since he works and I don't

All of this! I will have my husband help change LO while I get ready to nurse. I don't do it every day but every couple days.

    I have 3

    1. I let DS watch netflix too much. I have no energy to come up with things to do. We made cookies yesterday but I am exhausted from all the stuff I have to do.

    2. I let DS eat Popsicles for part of his breakfast yesterday.

    3. I pretended to be in a really deep sleep this morning so DH would get up with DD and I could get an extra couple hours of sleep.

He usually will change all diapers whenhe gets home from work. But he works early, and he had a long commute, so I try and let him sleep. I go back to work soon, but I work on his of days

This. Only it's the incision that hurts. I could definitely get in some real trouble. Good thing he has more self control than me.

  • I'm with you ladies. Def a bit of unfounded jealousy towards DH. I have been letting him sleep because he works like a mad man in summer and I don't. But I do feel like a single mom. Especially this week because DH had a cold and we didn't want him touching DS too much.

I am bored too. I don't mind BFing too much, but hate the cabin fever. Can't wait til I am getting more sleep and DS has a better immune system so we can go out more and be normal.

I hear PP about the Irish twins. I've have 3 sex dreams about DH already. I better call and get my minipill. And I had a section so I think I'm good to go down there. lol

Sometimes at 4 am I do wonder what the hell I got myself into. And miss the pre baby days. But the next morning, DS smiles at me, even though he's prob just pooping, and all is forgiven.

  • I have one.  I used to humor people I know who sent in pictures to "beautiful baby"contests by voting for their kid but think "I would never do that."  It's basically who knows the most people and can get the most votes, and beauty-type pageants annoy me for a multitude of reasons.  But then when I heard about the prizes in a local one, I was very very very tempted.  (Babies are EXPENSIVE and the grand prize would have helped.   I know, I'm a sellout.)  I just ran out of time and missed the deadline.

But the really flame-worthy part is that you could only enter one baby.  And even though both of my twins are beautiful gifts from God, one of my babies is more photogenic and would probably be considered cuter to an objective eye.  So it was a no-brainer which one I would have entered had I done it.

  • I am not a fan of bfing either! It takes so long and keeps me up through the night. I also feel like I am the only one who can comfort ds and while I know that is not true, it puts more pressure on me. I also feel like he is attached to my boob all.the.time.

Sadly, I've been trying to seduce my husband. But he has good self control and doesn't want me getting pregnant again (right now anyways) or getting an infection. He almost gave in once but then stopped lol. I don't know why I'm wanting to do it so much. 4 more weeks until my appointment.

  • I hear you, nonniedee.  My husband has never looked better than when he's holding our LOs.  I love seeing him seeing to them and file his daughter's nails.  But my girl parts still hurt, and I don't need three babies under the age of one.

All of this exactly!! I get pouty when DH gets to go to sleep and Everett is just waking up to feed and I know it will be at least an hour before he goes down again. Then DH feels guilty and I feel guilty and tell him I was exaggerating and he should go to bed. So he does. Then I'm up alone again lol.

Also I miss sex. We havent DTD for quite some time because we didnt enjoy it during pregnancy. Now inwant to be all over him. Heal, body, heal!

  • All this talk of how much everyone misses having sex, gives me another one. I honestly have no desire whatsoever to have sex every again. I honestly don't know the last time we did it, I told my husband last night if I never did it again I would totally be ok with it.

I'm currently pumping and pretending to be hooked up just.a.taddddd longer so my husband is taking care of M while I finish catching up here.
  • I know that most people relish the early days of LO's life and even wish they would stay little as long as possible, but I can't wait for DD to get bigger.

Breastfeeding, pumping, and formula supplementing is stressful to me and I long for the days when she will be eating solids and STTN.

Thats not flameworthy at all! Not producing enough is not your fault or something you can control. I think PP was saying she's supplementing more due to time management than trouble producing. But frankly I dont think thats flameworthy either. Mommacakes I dont know how you're keeping up with three kids like you are!

I wasn't trying to say anything bad about supplementing, part of the reason I have to is because I have been BF, trying to pump and he still doesn't seem to get enough. I have had a lot of people tell me I shouldn't but you have to do what you have to do.

Nothin wrong with EFF! I did with both of my girls. I tried BF with them and it just wasn't working between all the other problems I was having. Personally there is nothing wrong with formula in my opinion BF isn't for everyone and not everyone can produce enough no matter how hard you try. I've been there before.

I EFF and I am glad that I do. But that's an UO not a FFFC. I obviously don't see anything wrong with supplementing. You do what you gotta do, physically or to maintain your mental health.
