If I missed any updates, BFP's, etc. this past week, I apologize.  Things have bee super crazy these days.  I did my best to go back over this past week on here and some of the other boards.  Please correct me if I've made any mistakes or missed important updates.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the weekly check-in for TTCALers who are also dealing with infertility. If you'd like to join us please feel free to intro with your diagnosis and history. We've had a few extra challenges thrown at us, ladies. Come here for snuggles from people who get what you're dealing with.
Ladies, how are you all doing? Fill us in, along with any other updates or vents you need to get out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bookshelves: I hope your break is doing you some good.  Miss seeing you here on TB.  (((hugs)))

caroeliz02:  Glad AF finally showed.  I was always told that the lightness/heaviness of a period, is not an indication of how thin/thick your uterine lining is.  You can always check with your RE though.  Did you start femara?

car seat: PUPO?  Everything crossed for you!!

EKGibs: How are things going?

hhudson92:  How are your follies growing? Any mature ones?

katib77:  IUI this cycle?  Are you doing injects or meds with this IUI?

KatieRose09: (((hugs)))

lincoln79: (((hugs)))

lsuhoneybadger: So many (((HUGS))) to you.  Been thinking about you! <3

    EK, I hope you're enjoying the quieter pace for a little while!

    Me: Yes, I'm PUPO! We're not expecting much after all this time so we're busy preparing to proceed with adoption.

    QOTW: I do most of the cooking, but I love when DH takes care of it every now and then.

    I'm loving it! I was beginning to worry that I was a lazy slob b/c I didn't feel like cleaning house when I would get home after school, clinicals, or work but I'm happy to find out that I was just exhausted. I have cleaned more in the past week than I have in one semester lol.

    I was like that too when I worked and went to school full time!  I love being home as well, although I feel some days I'm more busy now than I used to be.  :)  Glad that you're enjoying being home!

  • Hi everyone,

    I have been MIA for a while. Mentally this whole IF workup has been exausting to say the least. So far I have gotten done my and DHs karyotyping done. Got screened for beta thalasemia, All clear and discharged from genetics. I also got blood clotting factor stuff done (lupus screen, INR, APTT) and hormone testing done. All negative. I was suppost to get what I thought was a HSG but really is going to be a SIS done today but I started spotting with my nuvaring in. I guess I misunderstood the test when I scheduled at the RE office.  So now next Thursday I will get it done. My RE expects to find nothing in that.

    I was started on a daily baby asprin and given a Rx for progesterone suppositories when we decided to TTC again.

    Don't get me wrong I am happy nothing is "wrong" but wondering how I could have that bad of luck to lose three babies.

    Question: I do 99% of the cooking.

    Glad to hear that nothing is "wrong" with you or your DH, but I can understand how frustrating it is to not have a reason "why" when it comes to your losses. I'm sorry that you're struggling and you have every right to feel the way you do.  It just sucks and certainly not fair. So many (((HUGS))) to you!

    I have one more day left of femara : my hcg came in so I have that all ready to go and will go in 29th to check follicles. I am praying we get to bd when we need to because my father in law is being referred to Emory to have a septal myectomy which is a very serious open heart surgery. His consult is wed when he wants us to go ahead and start BD for the next few days : assuming all looks good on the u/s.

    I do 99 percent of the cooking. DH just grills occasion but he does clean the dishes every night.
  • Hello!

    Went in for monitoring on Monday and had one follie at 17.5 then another at 12. I know the 12 wouldn't have caught up. My E2 was 195. Does that sound good to y'all? We didn't want more than two follies because we just couldn't take the chance of having multiples again, at least not 4. We triggered Monday night. Also, do you ladies always feel ovulation cramps after trigger? How long after do you usually ovulate?

    QOTW: I do most of the cooking but if we're grilling out he does that part.

  • Hi all,

    Hope everyone is doing well. High-5's and hugs to those who need one.

    On the IF front we have a reconsult with our RE June 5 and will discuss a FET. I'm trying to get myself where I have to be mentally. Slowly but surely. It's been a rough week though. I found out 2 friends from childhood passed away incompletely separate circumstances. It's another reminder of just how fragile life can be.

    It's been awhile since I've been here - I was essentially benched (had to complete a few things before the stupid PA would 'let me come back' and since I don't ovulate AT ALL, I was SOL).

    Hope you don't all mind if I come back?

    Kinda long, sorry.

    ::losses mentioned::

    ::losses mentioned:::

    TTC since August 2011 - PCOS/IR, low progesterone, high testosterone and DHEA, autoimmune thyroid and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, and probable Endo, but we are completely unable to do an exploratory lap (due to MCTD).

    I've been seeing an RE since June 2012 after six months of zero ovulation and PCOS diagnosis.

    Did one round of Clomid and three rounds of Femara with TI.  I'm perfect example of why monitoring is important - I didn't respond, had a large cyst quickly, had one follie grow 9mm in two days, etc.  I require a trigger to ovulate at all.

    ::losses mentioned:::

    I was basically benched after my first loss due to the holidays and the PA wanted me to check in with some of my specialists.  They all cleared me but the PA wasn't happy with my b/p (which was recently cleared as White Coat Syndrome).

    I spontaneously ovulated on my own in January, but my body didn't recognize it, my progesterone never rose, and my betas never went over 9.  I had to use Provera for my body to even recognize the cycle was over.  After that loss, the PA wanted further tests with other specialists.

    It's been a long 6 months and I hate that I'm quickly coming up on my first loss date (July), but I'm finally back in the saddle and have an appoint for next Thursday!!  I cannot say how excited I am.  I'm also going to insist that I do not ever see that PA again - her insistence to try to run ALL aspects of my medical health was a giant turnoff.  I have an Internist for that.  Plus, when Cardio cleared me, it should have been good enough but she lectured me because she didn't agree with him.  Le sigh.

    TL;DR: Infertility sucks.  Loss sucks.  Being benched due to complete anovulation sucks.  I'm starting treatment again starting next week.  YAY!

    Cooking:

    I do ALL of it.  Due to health issues, I am basically unable to do most jobs, and we had always agreed I'd be a SAHM, so I'm currently a homemaker.  One of my biggest jobs is meal planning, shopping, couponing, and putting together all meals.

    The one thing DH makes is his pork stir-fry from scratch.  I also hope he'll figure out how to use the grill this summer - we've had it for three years and it scares me to use it, so I need him to step-up to the plate.  Stick out tongue

    Good luck Hudson & Car and others in the end of a treatment cycle!

    Yes, we started our IUI#5 this week, baseline looked good with AFC and had monitoring on cd7 already with 2 at 11mm on left and "a lot of activity" on my right but none over 10mm.  Hoping there is one over there that takes the lead and I have three nice size follies ready to trigger when I go in on Tuesday.  Normally they'd have me go in on Sunday, but I think with the holiday weekend they are keeping those appointments to a minimum of ET's and IUIs.  :::shrugs:::hope the fewer monitoring doesn't mess anything up.  Should have IUI next Thursday based on historical of when I go.

    ETA QOTW:  Sorry, we share cooking fairly evenly.  I cook Mon-Thursday when I'm home for dinner time (I usually work Tuesday and Thursday nights), we kind of trade off who cooks Friday (or we go out to dinner) and DH cooks Sat & Sunday.  As for breakfast we go back and forth.  DH is a good cook, but a messy one so it has it's benefits and drawbacks.

  • Good luck to car, Hudson and katib and (((hugs))) all around. Sorry to be scarce in these parts, I've been traveling a fair amount, which means digging out my desk at work when I get back.

    I don't have much to report, other than I am over half-way through my molar pregnancy monitoring (assuming they let me go with a 6 month TTA period). Woot!  The upshot of that is I am getting increasingly nervous about what happens come August. Should I wait the full year? Is 6 months sufficient? Do we go IUI? IVF? And what is the upshot of taking fertility drugs after a molar pregnancy? Am I at a higher cancer risk? And what if my ovaries suck and they decide that IVF is not an option? I know, I know, all things to discuss with the doc, but these are the questions that I find myself laying in bed at night thinking about.  Deep breaths . . .

    In other news, this Saturday is my third half marathon in my triple crown/ 3 half marathons in 3 months challenge that I set out for myself after my diagnosis. I feel pretty proud that I accomplished it and it is nice to feel like my body is doing something good other than just being an "I suck at making babies" machine.

    QOTW: My fiance does all the cooking. Although, I make a mean spaghetti with pasta sauce straight from the jar and a fabulous reheated leftovers. :)
