Did anyone else have HELLP syndrome with their first pregnancy and go on to have a second? If so, what were the precautions taken during the second pregnancy? I have a pre-conception appointment with my midwife next month, but I'm just curious if anyone else went through this.
I went in for a routine NST at 36weeks and told the nurse I had some pain in my ribs. My BP was slightly high so she ordered a blood test just to be sure. Turns out my platelets were dropping dangerously low and my liver was failing and I ended up having to have an emergency c-section a few hours later (I decided to transfer to a hospital with a NICU just in case) - I was crashing too fast for them to allow me to be induced and try to have a vaginal delivery. Luckily DD was born at 5lb 7oz and was healthy and didn't end up needing NICU care.
Other than that my pregnancy was pretty uneventful and I actually enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to having a second in the near future, and I've done as much research as possible (not much info is available for HELLP!) so I'm just looking for info from anyone else that was in a similar situation!
