Hot Flashes

Okay people - I'm definitely having legit hot flashes. ER was 6 days ago. WTH? Is this normal? I called my nurse to check, but holy cow...I'm HOT! Then I'm fine. Then I'm HOT!

I totally feel for menopausal women now...this is awful. I wanted to strip down to my tank top while teaching today...ridiculousness.

Anybody else have this?

  • I don't have any experience with IVF so I hope it is okay if I respond. I usually just lurk.  I did six months of Lupron and had some pretty bad hot flashes...a trick I found that helped was to keep in my desk or in my purse one of those runners neck ties that you just get wet and they stay cold for hours. They just fold up and when you get hot you can just run it under some cold water and wrap it around your neck. It really helped me.  Hoping your hot flashes go away soon.

  • Progesterone can give you these symptoms. Try a cool wet towel on the back of your neck, or a cold spoon on your wrist, if you don't feel like the a/c. Tried and true in the Midwest.

I'll try a cold spoon and the neck runner or cold towel. Brilliant. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to help today when I was midlesson with my kiddos in the classroom. I wanted to peel off all my clothes! Definitely didn't, but boy was I tempted!
